It's frustrating how little people know about satanism. You are correct when you equate satanism and atheism they are two sides of the same coin with satanism being mostly for aesthetic appeal and atheism being more philosophical

The way I’ve always interpreted it is this: Satanism is the philosophy of living your life the way you see fit and enjoying yourself as long as you are not doing harm to others, and atheism is simply the lack of belief in a deity. However, the majority of religions frown upon indulgences and enjoying your life to its fullest, which is one of many reasons atheism and Satanism go hand in hand.
