Of course it's from Utah. Nothing good comes out of Utah.
Okay, so the text of the bill is very short. It would amend the Communications Act of 1934 to define "obscenity" for every state. This is an issue, constitutionally speaking. The existing precedent, the "contemporary community standards" test introduced by Miller, rests on this idea that every state has its own definition of what is obscene. And, likewise, every state should be able to define for itself what is obscene. Enacting this bill would necessarily take that power away from the states and centralize it in the federal government.
This Mike Lee motherfucker has some brass balls if he thinks every state is going to bend the knee to his mormon-ass definition of obscenity.
Well shit, the Republicans brought a certain anti-online porn bill back to the table.
The Interstate Obscenity Definition Act.
This should alarm you guys.

It’s just so weird that I can say “I was treated badly by my mother in a way that only happened because I came out as a trans man and would not have happened had I been a cis woman or a trans woman because my masculinity and status as a “gender traitor” was the problem” and a portion of this website will look at my experiences and go “you were just experiencing general transphobia and/or misogyny :)” and not take a single second to listen to what I actually said. Like I am not going to sit here and have this godforsaken website gaslight me about my own experiences when I’m about to kill myself over the way my mother treats my trans masculinity.
Being a trans man was the reason for my fucking abuse. You do not get to tell me that what I experienced was not fucking targeted.

It's ok to have rape fantasies/kinks where you're the aggressor.
It's ok to have teacher/student fantasies/kinks where you're the teacher.
It's ok to have power imbalance fantasies/kinks where you're the one with more power.
It's ok to have predator/prey fantasies/kinks where you're the predator.
It's ok to have pain/punishment fantasies/kinks where you're the one inflicting the pain/punishment.
Your fantasies and kinks don't make you a bad person.
Safely exploring your fantasies and kinks through fiction or through role playing (either online or in-person acts) with other consenting adults doesn't make you a bad person.

Lines of thought that seem Normal but are actually rooted in extreme puritanism:
-Seeing the nude human body is inherently traumatic -Sex scenes in art are pointless -Wearing kink-related clothing in public is the similar to performing a sex scene in front of unwilling participants -Depicting female characters expressing sexuality is always degrading -People's sexual fantasies are always an endorsement of the behavior they want to see in real life -Sex work is more traumatic and coercive than other types of work The goal is to treat sex as just another thing people do. That is a much healthier attitude than hiding it! It's not uniquely traumatic, it's not weird to talk about it or include it in society.

Personal injury lawyers' kids learning to proportion fault by percentage.
Prosecutors' kids learning to accept that innocent people losing their freedom is the price to pay for ordered society.
Public interest lawyers' kids learning to carry the suffering of the marginalized on their shoulders.
BigLaw partners' kids learning from a young age that they exist to keep That Name On The Building.
Litigators' kids learning how to stand up for themselves from their parents only to be shut down with the full force of a Jesuit education and decades of courtroom experience.
Lawyers' kids losing their minds with their parents.

I theorize the reason "bottoms" appear more prevalent than "tops" on these types of spaces is that it is simply easier to be funny about being a bottom than about being a top without sounding like a sex offender
"uuuuu 🥺 pls cock me aaaaaaaa *runs into wall like Wile E Coyote running into his own tunnel painting*" easy as shit comedy
"I want to put my DICK in someone" whoa dude calm down, take it easy
