I remember looking at this view my first day, thinking what a blessing I was experiencing. From that day I wake up ready to make the most of that blessing. Some days were better than others but everyday was worth it. Remember to stop and appreciate every blessing you recieve, it will change the way you live! "Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire." -Hebrews 12:28 (ESV Strong's) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2guC64gQ64/?igshid=vwnu6e1po8xe

Strong towers were a greater security in a bygone age than they are now. Then when troops of marauders invaded the land, strong castles were set upon the various hilltops, and the inhabitants gathered up their little wealth and fled there at once. Castles were looked upon as being very difficult places to attack; and ancient troops would rather fight a hundred battles than endure a single siege! Towns which would be taken by modern artillery in twelve hours held out for twelve years against the most potent forces of the ancient times. He who possessed a castle was lord of the entire region round about, and made their inhabitants either his clients who sought his protection, or his dependents whom he ruled at will. He who owned a strong tower felt, however potent might be his adversary, his walls and bulwarks would be his sure salvation. Generous rulers provided strongholds for their people—mountain fastnesses where the peasantry might be sheltered from marauders. -Proverbs 18:10 (Spurgeon SB Notes) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2Sv3pYg4Tk/?igshid=kvtfebw4afj2

Psalms 23:1 (Spurgeon SB Notes) A sheep is one of the most unwise of creatures. It will go anywhere except in the right direction. It will leave a fat pasture to wander into a barren one. It will find many ways but not the right way. It would wander through a forest and find its way through ravines into the wolf’s jaws but never by its wariness turn away from the wolf. It could wander near his den, but it would not instinctively turn aside from the place of danger. It knows how to go astray, but it does not know how to come home again. Left to itself, it would not know in what pasture to feed in summer or where to retire in winter. https://www.instagram.com/p/B1m2hvMgnJS/?igshid=haeqztyj1j2b

Those having true knowledge, by faith in God’s word, not only leaders (as 11:33), but others (11:35 12:10). To “shine” in glory is a privilege of all the saved (cf. the principle in 1 Thess. 2:12; 1 Pet. 5:10). Any who influence others for righteousness shine like stars in varying capacities of light as their reward (as in 1 Cor. 3:8). The faithfulness of the believer’s witness will determine one’s eternal capacity to reflect God’s glorys -Daniel 12:3 (MacArthur Study Notes (ESV)) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1WHs65gB2_/?igshid=ufzbboawm177

The only way by which we can persevere in the right faith is to hold to the foundation, and not in the smallest degree to depart from it; for he who holds not to Christ knows nothing but mere vanity, though he may comprehend heaven and earth; for in Christ are included all the treasures of celestial wisdom. This then is a remarkable passage, from which we learn that there is no other way of being truly wise than by fixing all our thoughts on Christ alone. Now as he is dealing with the Jews, he teaches them that Christ had ever possessed the same sovereignty which he holds at this day; The same, he says, yesterday, and today, and forever. By which words he intimates that Christ, who was then made known in the world, had reigned from the beginning of the world, and that it is not possible to advance farther when we come to him. Yesterday then comprehends the whole time of the Old Testament; and that no one might expect a sudden change after a short time, as the promulgation of the Gospel was then but recent, he declares that Christ had been lately revealed for this very end, that the knowledge of him might continue the same for ever. It hence appears that the Apostle is not speaking of the eternal existence of Christ, but of that knowledge of him which was possessed by the godly in all ages, and was the perpetual foundation of the Church. It is indeed certain that Christ existed before he manifested his power; but the question is, what is the subject of the Apostle. Then I say he refers to quality, so to speak, and not to essence; for it is not the question, whether he was from eternity with the Father, but what was the knowledge which men had of him. But the manifestation of Christ as to its external form and appearance, was indeed different under the Law from what it is now; yet there is no reason why the Apostle could not say truly and properly that Christ, as regarded by the faithful, is always the same. -John Calvin's Commentary https://www.instagram.com/p/B1SNJ08AQW0/?igshid=x31fygburib3

This threefold, divinely inspired blessing was pronounced by the priest with uplifted hands (Lev. 9:22). It moves from a general blessing (v. 24), to an invocation of God’s favor and presence (v. 25), and finally to a climactic mention of the peace that comes only with God’s gracious presence (v. 26). The pronouncement of this blessing placed God’s covenant name “Lord” (Yahweh) on the people (v. 27). This Aaronic benediction has been discovered on two small silver scrolls found at Ketef Hinnom that date to the seventh and sixth centuries b.c. 6:25 make his face to shine upon you. A vivid figure for God’s looking favorably upon His worshipers. The closer one’s access to the face of God, the greater the blessing. -Numbers 6:24-26 (Reformation SB) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0v82VSgDJZ/?igshid=hd1xlzqsbl52

ROCK: As a metaphor for God, this term is concentrated in poetic passages such as the song of Moses in Deut. 32; the song of David in 2 Sam. 22; Psalms; and Isaiah. The metaphor suggests God’s strength and sovereignty and the security of those who trust in Him. Here the focus is on the uniqueness of the one true God as opposed to false sources of security -1 Samuel 2:2 (Reformation SB) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0n3cBhgVR1/?igshid=lv8w19954qvk
