Perú apunta a captar inversiones por US$ 60 mil millones en 10 años
Espinoza resaltó la cantidad de proyectos mineros que existen en el país.
Durante los próximos 10 años, el país espera recibir una cartera de proyectos mineros con inversiones de US$ 60 mil millones, según dijo durante la inauguración del “Perú Day” en Toronto la vicepresidenta Marisol Espinoza. Señaló que durante el año pasado las inversiones en la minería llegaron a los US$ 10 mil millones y que los grandes proyectos previstos demuestran que este sector es uno de los más importantes en el país. Espinoza inauguró el “Perú Day” en el marco de las actividades que cumple en el Congreso de Exploración Minera. La jornada de hoy estuvo centrada en Perú con conferencias como “El Perú como destino preferido de las inversiones” y “El potencial geológico peruano”. “Nuestro país participa en consideración que la minería contribuye directamente con el 5% en la formación del Producto Bruto Interno (PBI) y aporta más de la mitad del ingreso de divisas por exportaciones”, afirmó la vicepresidenta. Espinoza resaltó la necesidad de trabajar con responsabilidad social, preservando las fuentes de agua, respetando a las comunidades y conservando el medio ambiente Además, hizo hincapié en que Perú cumple los acuerdos de la Iniciativa para la Transparencia de las Industrias Extractivas, actuando con transparencia y manteniendo el diálogo entre el Estado, las poblaciones y las empresas.

Police and school officials are on alert after learning that a man driving a white van reportedly stopped and chased a middle school student on a busy road late Monday afternoon. School officials learned Tuesday about the incident and contacted police, Schools Superintendent Kevin Smith said Tuesday.
