I find vampires that live comfortably off animal blood to be so eye-rolling. You're taking away the fundamental tension of the concept! They're killers, even if they don't want to be. They have a terrible urge that must be satisfied.
A vampire that feasts on animals should, at the very least, be unhappy about it. Eating animals instead of humans should be heroic act of self-denial, a diminishment, a course of last resort.
When I see a scene of a vampire taking down a deer and then just being normal afterward, I get sad, because where's my juicy internal conflict gone?

Can I please have a cappuccino but with oat milk and a big pump of sugarfree chocolate syrup and... Lol I remember your stupid ass from 2,300 years ago. We were living in seleucis on the tigris river during the same span of summers... do you rememver a red ibis bird with beautiful plumes? Yeah U were a sort of dull brown goat that didn't train and dint make milk or kids. Yeah? No? Eventually the Zoroastrian homesteaders who owned you started feeding you contaminated barley to try and kill you lol. Maybe you remember the ergotism? Anyway. also I want one of these 🫵stupid little breads in the case

honestly the character of the king in yellow as like a Guy is something people get stuck on a lot, especially people trying to work him into cthulhu mythos stuff as like some kind of cthulhoid in a yellow robe fucking with you. the king as a character is like really not the most important aspect of The King in Yellow. it's about the blurring of the line between ordinary reality and the play

every time i look at websites for benjamin moore, sherwin williams, etc. i wonder what qualifications you'd have to have to be the guy who names the paint colors. i think it's my dream job. imagine:
i enter a building, where a single $8000 lounge chair sits in the direct center of an otherwise empty ultra modern room with impossibly high ceilings. i take a seat. within seconds, a hoard of identically dressed people approach me, one of them delicately handing me a single paint swatch.
i examine the color. pale green. i squint for a moment. furrow my brow.
"memories of spinach," i proclaim. unsure murmurings from the crowd, but i raise a hand to silence them.
"nay........ ruminations upon kale," i amend, and the murmurings become excited. there is a smattering of applause.
i go home. one hundred thousand dollars have been deposited into my bank account.

And with colours! I spent way longer on them than planned and at first thought I hated it. But coming back to look at it after a break made me warm up to it. I think I’m just in a bad headspace right now, where I struggle to see the qualities of my own work. Hope I can break out of it soon!

perhaps the decent amount of notes on my post for leena's campaign is making people think that others are donating to her? or perhaps everyone has genuinely gone completely broke. i don't know. it's not really getting anywhere regardless of the reason. every day i wish i had better news for her.
i'm not sure what to say. leena is an engineer, like her mother, like my mother. she's quick witted and funny when she has the energy to be. she's been sick for a long time. she's honest with her feelings. she's thanked me for not getting bored with her several times now. it breaks my heart to think she'd expect me to. when she was attacked and separated from her family, she messaged me crying, and for a whole century long day i was terrified, completely terrified that i was the last person she ever messaged. she reminds me of my little sister so much it hurts.
i'm not willing to give up on her or her family. please help her reach her campaign goal. it's not that far. all we need is for the support to be consistent.

This is our newly opened Kitchen in Port Sudan, it is the largest community kitchen in the city of Port Sudan and serves 2,200 displaced people daily.
Many of the displaced people, particularly the children, targeted by this new Kitchen were suffering from acute malnutrition and we are now working to improve their physical conditions.
Currently, there are 25,000 people who depend daily on the work of our kitchens to stave off hunger and starvation. Khartoum Aid Kitchen is a grassroots initiative, which means we can only continue to do this work if the donations keep coming. So please follow the link if you are able to contribute.
