advice for teens
hey loves! so even though the title says teens, these tips can really apply for any age, although i will also be talking about things like high school, drama and planning for the future.
health: how you take care of your body is so important. when we’re young it’s easy to indulge in unhealthy habits, and it’s normalized, but these unhealthy habits will come to haunt us eventually. when we’re young it’s good to establish healthy habits that help us thrive as people.
diet
incorporate more fruits and vegtables into your meals
always eat breakfasts!
avoid dieting and unhealthy fads
drink 8 glasses of water per day
balance is key
body
adopt a healthier sleep schedule
stretch and do yoga to avoid injuries
physical activity daily (walking, working out, your choice)
self care
take care of your oral hygeine (brush twice a day, floss, mouthwash, etc.)
have a skincare routine
always remove makeup before bed
use SPF everyday (your skin will thank you in 10 years)
have good hygeine
do scalp massages for hair growth and headache relief
if you want to grow your lashes use argan oil
avoid harsh chemicals
mental health: this age is so weird because it’s a transition from childhood to adulthood. and with school and drama and other life factors, it’s easy for our hormones to go wild and for our emotions to get out of control. during this time we want to work on how to become more stable and learn healthy coping mechanisms
journal when you’re upset
accept all your feelings as they come
have a support system to communicate with
practice gratitude
get diagnosed if you believe you have a mental illness
meditate to clear your mind
develop a set of HEALTHY coping mechanisms that help you when you’re upset
work on building confidence in yourself (avoiding negative self-talk, doing positive affirmations daily)
school: school can be so difficult between the tests, assignments and preparing for college. on top of that there’s drama, bad teachers and so much more. school can be rough, but it’s up to you to make your experience better.
academic
take notes in class
ask questions if you need to
quizizz and Kahoot are my go to’s for studying
develop a study routine that works for you
work on managing your time
study a little bit everyday instead of cramming
practice deep breathing during tests to eliminate stress
clean your backpack often
learning outside of school
read books outside of school
work on learning a new languages
social life
stay out of drama
avoid talking bad about people (defend them behind their back, talk to them to their face)
stay connected to your friends and make plans with them
ignore rude people, they’ll mean nothing to you in a few years
find a balance
learning/planning for the future: thinking about your future is also an important part of being a teenager. during this time it’s good to learn new and important skills, as well as thinking about what you want in your future.
things to learn
learn to drive/get your liscense
get a job/summer job to get experience working
learn how to cook for yourself
learn about taxes/finances
learn how to save money
thinking about your future
think about colleges you want to attend (their tuition, how you’ll pay, why you want to attend there)
think about what your dream college looks for
look at your hobbies/passions and find what you can do with them
try out new hobbies
find things you’re passionate about
ofc there’s a lot to talk about, but this was what i could think of. if you ever need any additional advice you can send submissions through my asks, or privately dm me if you’d like. sending positive energy and all of my love

bringing joy into your life
taking care of your health- a lot of times our unhealthy habits can add to our moods and make them better or worse. how we care for our body can also affect our mood. during hard times we need to be proactive- looking for ways to better our situations and better ourselves. i have a lot of posts about improving your health, so you can check out those for more in-depth improvement.
evaluate yourself and your habits (what habits do you have that are healthy, and which ones are unhealthy?)
start making little changes to yourself and your routine (begin eating healthier, begin to swap out unhealthy habits)
work towards bettering your mental health (meditation, journalling, therapy, whatever suits you and fits your life)
treat your body with respect- avoid your unhealthy habits, stop saying self-depricating things, take care of yourself and say positive affirmations. do what makes you feel good about yourself <3
abundance of love- relationships can definitely be difficult, like making friends and keeping them. but ultimately, the relationships we have in life are so important to our happiness and well-being.
reach out to old family members (depending on the circumstances of your family life, like if your relationship with your family is toxic you obviously should avoid this)
make time for the people in your life
find people to talk to, either online, at work, school, whatever works for you
work on maintaining your friendships and relationships through communication and boundaries
finding hobbies- finding interests and hobbies that interest and excite us are important for our happiness and mental health. it’s good to have things that you can do instead of suffering with boredom.
get back into old hobbies- if you have old, abandonded hobbies, incorporate them back into your life
surround yourself with the things you love- do things that are comforting, like watching movies and tv shows you like, reading books you love and going back to things that make you happy
make time for your interests- time management is another thing i’ll talk about another time, but ultimately, try to make a little time each day to focus on your hobbies and the things that you love.
making plans- sometimes initiating plans can make a big difference in your day. again, spending time with loved ones is such a good way to go about, but also the time you spend alone.
find places in your area to go to- find things that interest you, whether it’s bookstores, mini golf, coffee shops, wherever you want to go
spend quality time either with others or with yourself- always use your time wisely
find things to be grateful for, surround yourself with positivity and love. love yourself. take care of yourself and others. the content you consume and how you spend your time DOES affect you. how you take care of your body and your health DOES affect your mind. make smart choices, be productive and work towards being the best you <3 :) best of luck! sending positive energy and all of my love :)

30 Things To Do Alone

Go for a walk. I've been trying to reach 10k steps daily.
Read a book, article, or blog... just like you're doing right now. ;)
Watch a tv show. I'm currently watching Gilmore girls.
Watch the sunset/sunrise. I prefer sunsets.
Try a youtube workout. Daisy Keech is my favorite!
Do your nails. Nice nails make a vast difference in my opinion.
Go to the grocery store and buy some snacks that you've never tried before.
Try a new recipe. I'm trying carrot cake oatmeal later!
Write a letter to your future self. <3
Test old pens and throw away the dry ones.
Make a birthday wishlist. one of my favorite things to do when I'm bored and have nothing to do.
Take the 16 Personalities test. I'm an ENFP :)
Make a bucket list. I just started writing my autumn bucket list!
Research something or watch a video essay on youtube. One of my favorite channels at the moment is Mina Le.
Make a mood/vision board. You can check out my Twitter or Tumblr for some inspiration.
Scroll Pinterest for the next 6+ hours; we've all been there.
Take a long bath. Do a full skin/hair care routine.
Cut/dye your hair. I just cut curtain bangs, and I'm loving it!!
Bake something for a loved one; I made lemon-poppy seed cookies for my Dad.
Create a new playlist. I've started making an autumn playlist, lol.
Make a photo wall. I made one last year and still love it!
Accomplished your to-do list, and you'll feel great once you're done.
Get rid of old clothes, make room for new stuff.
Go to a new coffee shop and get something to try.
Learn how to crochet. I made a sweater for my dog, lmao.
Make yourself a drink, like a tea, coffee, or smoothie!
Declutter your digital space. (emails, photos, apps, etc...)
Make your room cozy and take a nap, or just relax for a bit.
Plan some outfits and look for things to buy online.
Apply a facemask and watch a coming-of-age movie. (my guilty pleasure, lol..)
Please feel free to add more suggestions in the comments! <3

I pray in 2023 I am more organized, focused, driven, motivated, smarter, wealthier, and healthier. Do more things that feel fulfilling on a soul level. Alchemize every negative emotion and experience and trust it works out in my highest good. I romanticize life because the beauty we see in everything is a reflection of the beauty we see in ourself. 🍀

how to stop caring what other people think of you

learn what you will accept and won't accept as behavior towards you
cut with toxic people
most people are too focused on themselves and their own issues anyway
what other people think or say about you has nothing to do with you it is their own perception
let them think what they want about you. it's not your reality. they're creating their own narrative. you can't control it
you can't force anyone to understand your point of view/feelings
not everyone is on the same vibe, you can't expect everyone to like you
everyone lives in their own reality
practice meditation and stillness. focus on what you're grateful for
stay away from people who only know how to criticize or speak ill of others, that says more about them than about yourself
be yourself and share your energy with people who are worth it
