the thought of why his grace was gone hit him. he didn’t much care for being mortal, if he was being honest. things hurt, sometimes both mentally and physically. when he had broke his ankle, he thought he was dying! 

as cas’ hand was replaced on dean’s shoulder, he gave another soft squeeze and a smile to the hunter, eyes locked on his now. there were words that dean wasn’t saying, cas was quite sure (though he still doubted himself sometimes), but as always, he would not push dean. 

at the way dean mocked his voice, cas had to chuckle and nod. “i’ll follow you anywhere, dean winchester. paradise included,” he promised, eyes still locked on those beautiful emerald ones. as much as cas liked the color blue, the exact shade of dean’s eyes was actually his favorite of all colors. finally, his eyes closed at the feel of dean’s fingers buried in the curls atop his head and he hummed softly, letting out a soft sigh.
