((Aka a fluff fic where Jake gets the hug he deserves.))
Marc wasn't exactly thrilled at Jake's new deal with Khonshu.
But he was impressed that Khonshu kept Marc's deal to not go near him or Steven and only Jake works for him.
But Marc had noticed small things lately, Jake was usually so confident and narky, but now he was quiet and violent, only ever listening to Khonshu.
Marc sat in his room within their mind as he thought, the door opened and he looked up to see Steven entering.
"Hey buddy." Marc greeted as Steven looked at him with worry.
He always knew when Marc was thinking too much.
"Everything okay?" Steven whispered sitting beside Marc on the floor.
"It's Jake." Marc muttered as Steven looked at him.
"What about him? Did he hurt you?" Steven asked with worry as Marc smiled softly.
"No, he didn't hurt me. I'm worried about him and Khonshu. I can see the same thing happening that happened to me. The abuse. I know Jake and I aren't exactly buddies, but he's part of all of this. Apart of us." Marc whispered as Steven took his hand softly in his.
"Marc, we can talk to him. Both of us, I know he won't like to talk...but I've seen it as well. He seems so sad." Steven replied as Marc looked at Steven.
"Alright, we can talk to him."

"What do you two want?" Jake grumbled as he walked into Steven's room where him and Marc were.
They had finally managed to get Jake to put the body to sleep and talk to them.
"We just need to talk, Marc and I are worried." Steven said holding his hands together in front of his stomach like he usually would when he was nervous.
Jake rolled his eyes and scoffed.
"Stay out of my business." He grumbled before he tried to leave out of the room but the door wouldn't open.
"Jake we can't let you leave yet. Steven and I have both noticed...that you're different. And we think Khonshu is the cause of it." Marc spoke up as Jake stayed with his back faced to them.
"Khonshu has nothing to do with this." Jake growled as Steven walked up to him and placed his hand on his back.
"Jake, I-I think Khonshu is abusing you." Steven whispered before Jake turned around and pushed Steven back making him fall over. Marc quickly walked forward in front of Steven.
"Jake." Marc warned as Jake stepped back and shook his head.
"He's not abusing me, I'm serving him. Something you could never do Marc. I'm fine, you both need to mind your business." Jake growled not looking up at them, Marc helped Steven up off the floor and made sure he was okay.
Marc decided to take the lead and walked to Jake where he hesitantly took Jake's hand.
"Let us help you Jake. You aren't alone in this. We know more than anyone what it's like." Marc said softly as Jake stared down at his hand inside Marc's.
"He won't let me be free." Jake whispered as Steven moved forward and looked at Jakw softly.
"We can help, we can always help Jake. You mean a lot to both of us." Steven whispered as Jake chuckled.
"Even though I'm such a monster you both still see the good don't you." Jake muttered, Marc smiled softly.
"Because there is good inside of you Jake." Marc responded as Jake felt tears in his eyes.
"I'm not weak." Jake growled out, pulling his hand away from Marc.
Steven stepped forward and slowly hugged Jake.
Jake froze but soon wrapped his arms around Steven and began to cry softly as Steven held him softly.
He looked behind and gestured for Marc to join the hug.
Marc was a bit awkward with affection but he got the idea and hugged Steven from behind placing his hand on Jake's shoulder.
"Accepting that you need help doesn't make you weak." Steven whispered as Jake squeezed him in his arms.
They stayed like that for a while, all just hugging before Jake had calmed down.
Steven reached up and wiped away Jake's tears with his sleeves.
Jake would never admit it but he loved how soft Steven was with him, even though he thought of himself as a monster.
Steven was the only reason either Marc or Jake had learnt much more affection.
"Come on, we can do what I do to Marc when he's stressed." Steven said grabbing both of them and pulling them towards the bed.
He laid down and patted his chest as Marc chuckled.
"Cuddling leads to good mental health." Steven said as Jake smiled a little bit.
Marc climbed onto the bed and laid his head on Steven's chest.
Steven looked up at Jake and gestured for him to lay down.
"Come on, I promise it's comfy." Steven said as Jake slowly climbed in and laid his head on Steven's chest.
He didn't realise how affection starved he had been. Steven wrapped his arms around them both and smiled.
"See? Don't you both feel better?" Steven said as Marc and Jake chuckled.
Jake looked at Marc.
"Thank you."
