Stan must really like your hair!!! He seemed upset when you chopped most of it off lol it’s very cute :)))

He does and he was, it was so annoying, but I think he's gotten used to the current length now? I still sometimes catch him by surprise when I have to wear a hat and take it off because he gets startled and looks away and I think he gets a bit embarrassed that he forgot. At least that's my theory.

Mother's Day diary post thing

I think Mom had a good day?

Ike made her breakfast, we went out to lunch, and I made dinner for all of us as a treat. Nothing went wrong, really, I think? I know. Nothing happened that negatively impacted everyone else besides my dad bringing up politics at the wrong time (but that happens all the time).

I also made her a card. Now I have a raise on my allowance I could get her something nice, but she treasures nothing more than my stupid cards. Guess she just likes that we *made* them?

There were no lasting casualties from that but I also know her heart was in the right place even so. Her anger was just wrongly directed.

And she’s changed a lot since then, really! She actually listens to me and Ike, she’s been supportive when struggles arise, and she admits when she’s made a mistake. She means so much to me even if she is a bit (a lot) overprotective.

Did u have mean comments about ur hair while growing up? Im also a curly-haired redhead and im fed up with it. Any tips?

Man, did I ever! I used to hide all my hair under a stupid hat so that people wouldn't even know. I have some freckles but my skin isn't as light as a stereotypical ginger and my hair's redder than usual so I'd pass for a non-redhead sometimes if I hid the hair.

The texture has also given me a lot of pain. When it's long I have to go to this salon that specialises in Black hair because regular places have no idea how to handle it. My mom goes too; she used to have hers straightened so she could tie it all up, but very recently she's started wearing it curlier again. So at least I have some solidarity. I did make a friend in the waiting room once, so that was nice.

In terms of looking after it I'm not the best person to ask because I got so sick of it I got it all cut short, but the number one thing is don't try things for hair that isn't yours! It sounds so straightforward but yet I hear of so many people that try and use brushes and combs used for straight hair and it just damages your hair. Ditto cleaning products. That's a big one; keep your hair nice and clean.

Also make sure if you're having surgery with local anaesthesia you check the latest studies. That seems to be a controversial topic, whether red hair actually makes a difference.

Anyway the Cotswolds went away before middle school. I think the parents still live nearish, the kids are just at single-sex boarding schools.

We never really dated properly (it was fourth grade), but I offered emotional support when her boyfriend was treating her like garbage and we're still kind of friends. She's also in extension biology.

I've never had a girlfriend that counted and I'm waiting until I finish my studies because there's so many other things, and even then I'd want to wait for the right person. Even if everyone says the first time is a let down, better to have it be a let down with someone you like, y'know?
