EYES DRIFT ALONG, FOLLOWING THE slightest sprinkles of snow which now begin to barely dust the walkways. fingers close in on her palm before falling to her side at the question posed. ❝ Not naturally. My world is a horrible place… ravaged by the likes of war with nothing left behind. Only ash falls like snow there… ❞ needless to say, the countless fires and battles have destroyed their lands, leaving the atmosphere hardly anything but smoke and ash. however, her disposition changes with a small blink, glancing toward the manakete before offering a small smile.
❝ Is that so? If the Gods are not kind, then perhaps we should take it upon ourselves to make it so by our own hands. ❞
❝ ... Yeah... I know what that’s like, ❞ is all the Manakete says for the time being, her expression turning melancholy as she looks to the side for a moment. While she, of course, knows full well the horrors of war, it makes Nah a little sad to see that others know it, too. While she realizes that she can’t control the events of other worlds and places, the teen still finds herself wishing that such things wouldn’t happen, no matter where anyone finds themselves.
❝ However, you do have a point about making your own luck. While I’m not particularly good at it, you seem to be like someone that can take ‘life by the horns’... Or however the saying goes. ❞

❝ Winter does not suit you, then? Back home… I never once knew what the sight of snow was, ❞ she gently comments, palm turning upward as if to catch a snowflake were it to fall. ❝ … but warmth is far better than freezing. If the Gods in this world are kind, they will grant your desire. ❞
Lightly does the Manakete hum at the familiar sight and voice of the other, her mauve hues peering over at the blonde’s taller frame. As she does so, Nah takes note of how effortlessly beautiful the taller girl seems among the gently falling snowflakes.
❝ I can’t say I care much for it... Though from what you say, it seems that you’re from a place of a very warm climate? ❞
❝ And the scientists that created this place are far from kind. I hardly expect them to grant any sort of desire from anyone, especially me. ❞

sworddanceswithwolves:
“Very well, dragon. That’s fair.”
At the dragon’s response, he can’t help but think she must be young. Young and also defensive for her people. Oki supposes if she is from a tribe similar to his own, it isn’t his place to put misconceptions on a people he does not know of. Oina are part-wolf but they only eat prey animals. No one has ever heard of any Oina eating a human, and they would be either executed or exiled from the land depending on circumstances.
She seems quick to act pleasant, and he relaxes a bit more. The wolf’s stance isn’t as tense, his hackles settling down as he watches her tail joyfully sway behind her. One large, scaly leg steps out of the fountain and he sits. “I have also not heard of the Manakete tribe. We come from the far Northern part of Nippon; we ar the only tribe who lives in that area, the only ones who have survived the harsh winters throughout the years.” However, the tribes’ elders have either passed away from cold, or had been killed by demons. Kemu is their last living elder, formerly their chief before he had been attacked. As the younger generation grows older, very few of them have children. They have survived, but he worries there will not be much of a future if the demons continue to wreak havoc. Oki keeps these thoughts to himself, for now.
Rather than telling her, decides to change form once more. The shape of the wolf burns away in a display of incandescent light, the human form beginning to stretch and change until it is a man standing in the wolf’s place. He wears the helm as a mask now, and the same pattern on the wolf’s fur now colors his tribal clothing.
“Where do Manakete hail from?”
Noticeably excited by what the stranger has to say, the Manakete now sits down for a moment, her frame eventually sliding fully onto the ground to lay where she may better look at the wolf. While his colourings seem a bit stranger up close, Nah has little room to talk... And even then, it’s not something that’s entirely foreign to her, given the markings Taguel have on themselves, as well.
❝ I can’t say I’m surprised; there’s people from all sorts of different places in this city, ❞ she soon responds, offering a small hum as the other continues on with his story.
❝ I’m sorry to hear that... Though seeing your fur, it makes sense you come from such a cold place. ❞ and in a way, Nah finds herself envying that part of him just slightly. While Manaketes aren’t too affected by the cold when in dragon form, the frigid air still proves to sting every now and then under her scales.
When the man goes silent for a few moments, however, the girl debates on asking about what may be on his mind... Before he swiftly transforms, the figure of a man now standing before herself. Surprised but not too much, the older teen offers a quiet nod as another flash of light envelops the area, a girl of short stature now standing where the dragon had been moments ago.
❝ Manaketes are from a place called Ylisse... A very long time ago, there were many of us but now there are very few. Unlike your tribe, I’m guessing, Manaketes are truly dragons that have assumed the form of humans for many eons... Er, but I’m sort of a special case. ❞

HARDHEADED AS ALWAYS, IT WAS merely part of the character description when it came to the knight clad in white armour. something unfortunate for those who find themselves in the midst of handling her abrasive nature. rather than stoke the fire further, she remains tight lipped on these quips, though fair features remain earnest as she listens to what the manakete now speaks of.
❝ ‘Hive City’… I have never heard of this place. Tell me, does it still reside within the world of Gods? ❞ though speaking of the divine, she hardly means the very essence of the word itself.
❝ 'World of Gods’? ❞ the Manakete repeats the rather odd string of words, quirking a brow at the blonde as she does so. Ah, yes; that must be where she’s from, right? Or something to that effect it seems, based on what she’s asking Nah now.
❝ I’m not sure what that is or where it is, but this city isn’t within it. This city exists in a different plane of time unlike Ylisse or your ‘World of Gods’. ❞
❝ I know it sounds a bit confusing, but... Think of it as a different ‘world’ or ‘universe’. ❞

Was it acceptable to just throw one's gift through an open window before leaving atop a flying mount into the sky? Well, that's what happened; a package is sent through Nah's window, landing on whatever surface it was aimed at. Luckily enough, contents of the present were soft, for inside the surprisingly neatly wrapped package, was an orange scarf. A note is attached to it, reading: "Lil' Sis! Do dragons feel cold all naked like that? Anyway, here's a scarf for whenever you transform!" Achilles
Screaming at the sudden intrusion of a gift into the Manakete’s (thankfully), open window, the girl stays motionless for a few moments… Until seeing that the culprit isn’t a home intruder but rather, a long present. Narrowing her eyes in suspicion, the older teen approaches the box with suspicion… Her mauve hues widening slightly in surprise upon reading the tag.
❝ What is this…? ❞ she mumbles, slowly opening the gift, soon picking up the note inside and giving it a read.
❝ Hmph…! What a thing to say while giving a gift…! I’ll have to word mine better when I give him his, ❞ yet despite her words, a warm smile can be seen on her expression.

❝ Raising my arms against you wasn’t for no reason. I sought answers, ones which I still have yet to get. It was the most appropriate action upon arriving moments ago. ❞ despite her stubborn words, her stance eases as the tip of her makeshift spear touches the ground. ❝ If you would have me believe you are no enemy, then I have no honourable reason to bear arms against you. ❞ not until she shows her reason otherwise.
❝ Like I said, you won’t receive them if you keep acting like this. ❞
❝ But I’m glad you’re starting to be more reasonable, ❞ the Manakete now sighs, shaking her head lightly again. At the very least, the stranger before her isn’t completely without reason.
❝ In any case, the place you’re stranded in now is called Hive City. ❞

HER WEAPON REMAINS AIMED, UNMOVING despite the threat the other returns to her own. emeralds glance to the side, noting fully the mock of it all, finding little concern whether someone destroyed something so useless as this twig they had given her. though she makes no more aggressive movements, she stands firm, unwavering in her demands.
❝ Would you not do the same? The last time I was brought into the world of Gods, the first person I met was the cause. It is only natural to face a possible enemy with caution than regret it later. ❞
❝ It’s important to exercise caution, but you can’t treat everyone like an enemy, ❞ she chides, shaking her head as she does so.

❝ Put that away before I bite it off! ❞ the Manakete warns immediately, a drip of sweat gently falling down her cheek. Really, why is it always her that has to deal with the loudest people?
❝ Ask in a more polite manner and maybe I’ll help you out. Honestly, what a way to make an entrance... ❞
AGAIN. WHISKED AWAY AT THE whims of another far from the realm of gods she had once stood. only the sense of displeasure shows itself on the expression she wears, frustration bubbling forth at the prospect that she was being toyed with once more. fingers curl around the mock weapon tightly, too blinded by her smoldering anger to note the difference quite yet. without hesitation does the knight garbed in armour threateningly point the tip of her spear toward the nearest person before barking out commands.
❝ YOU, answer me. Where is this place? ❞

sworddanceswithwolves:
“…”
The wolf’s nose crinkles slightly, scowling as best he can, at her clever and accusing response. That is a fair question, if he is to consider someone else’s point of view. However, a dragon should have nothing to fear, he would think. This is his first time seeing a dragon outside of the demon lord Orochi, and that beast was more of a serpent. She appears to be harmless, but the wolfish instinct and personal experience has taught him to continue to be wary when faced with a larger predator. The human warrior’s heart beats at the notion of fighting such a great beast.
His hackles bristle faintly at her comment, but his rigid tail begins to lower and relax a bit. “You are the first dragon to ever admit you do not eat humans.” Or wolves, but the dragon must eat something. It matters not, for she brings up a subject that greatly piques his interest. She knows of beast tribes? Even Oki thought the Oina were the only tribe, but he has heard of the Sparrow Clan in the far south of Nippon. She smells different than a scaly, bloodthirsty beast. It couldn’t just be due to her rolling in the fountain. But another scent seems to cling to her scales. Almost human, but not. His sharp red eyes size up the dragon’s salmon and jade-colored form, and decides if she is not going to be hostile, there is no reason to be tense.
“I am a warrior from the Oina tribe. My name is Oki.“
❝ Maybe the first to you. ❞ the Manakete is quick to correct the wolf, not wishing for anyone she thinks dearly of to be painted in a bad light. While she can’t really blame him for his thoughts as Grima has caused much of the same negativity towards dragons, Nah still feels protective of how they are seen... Of how people perceive them and herself.
Upon hearing his answer, however, the dragon looks considerably pleased... So much so that her tail can’t help from wagging a little bit, her teeth baring themselves as she reveals a grin to the stranger. While she hasn’t heard of his tribe, the older teen is just thankful there’s someone else out there like her and others that she knows of back home!
❝ I haven’t heard of the Oina Tribe before... So I’m guessing you’re from somewhere very different than where I’m from, ❞ she concludes thoughtfully, finally taking a step out of the water fountain.
❝ But still, it’s nice to meet you! I’m Nah, a Manakete. So, do you have a ‘normal’, human form, too? How long can you stay like this? Admittedly my time is almost up so all the better to dry off now... ❞
#sworddanceswithwolves#Oki o1#YES nah is very excited she never gets to meet anyone like her#(and i am also excited)

sworddanceswithwolves:
Everything moves so quickly in this place; crowds of people and sleek, bulky machines being operated by people. Lights flash different colors. It seems like as one light winks out and another flickers to life somewhere else. Noises hiccup, beep and growl together, confusing his senses. A wary, apprehensive wolf would have retreated, but he holds his ground. He trained to be ready for anything the moment he chose to become a warrior in the tribe. This world is so beyond him. In spite of that, he can still see the great difference between harmless folks in a strange world and bloodthirsty, demonic entities coming in deadly waves. Here, he can’t see any monsters leeching off of the living and slaughtering them mercilessly.
At least, this is the impression he has, as he pads through the peaceful park. The wolf is hulking in size compared to the average one; his thick, indigo and crimson fur making him even larger. He scents the ground as he goes along until something alarming causes him to stop in his tracks. He can scarcely believe what he is seeing. The last time he saw a dragon, it had been a formidable, eight-headed demon capable of swallowing the world if it had the chance. This one is still large but does not appear to be attacking anyone.
The points of the wolf’s ears prick forward, tail standing up and out as a show of both alertness and assurance. He does not fear this beast, and he is not afraid of fighting it. Although, it doesn’t appear to be acting as a threat. The dragon’s words are surprising, but they make sense. Is this beast harmless? It would seem so, as it splashes around in the fountain. The display is almost ridiculous, and not at all aggressive or dangerous as he would think a dragon to be. The wolf responds, a guttural, growled voice radiating from his form rather than coming from his wolfish snout.
“Wise words from such a beast. How am I to trust a dragon?”
While surprising to see a wolf so large and capable of speech, it’s something that washes over the Manakete almost immediately. While she isn’t quite used to seeing other members of beast tribes, the older teen is well aware of their existence... Even if they aren’t from her timeline or world exactly. So with that in mind, she temporarily stops rolling in the fountain and instead sits up properly, her piercing optics looking right at the canine in question.
❝ Well, how am I to trust a wolf? ❞ she shoots back, her tone not particularly impressed with his accusation.
❝ If I wanted to hurt or even eat you, I would have done so already. Anyways, weren’t you listening to what I was saying? Really... ❞ though in the end, she supposes she can’t fault him for such thoughts, especially if he has never seen a Manakete before.
❝ For the record, I don’t eat wolves... Or people. Anyway, are you from a beast tribe? ❞

pyrrhiclegend:
A hearty, fond laugh escaped his lips as Nah denied looking for any significant other. Sooner or later though, he’ll be proven correct and he will tease her relentlessly about it, so she should be prepared for that. He could also play the part of an intimidating older brother of sorts, so there’s that too. At her question though, Achilles looked up in thought for a moment, wondering if he should tell the younger girl about his true nature. Or scare her pants off…
Lips curled into a mischievous smile. He had decided upon the latter. Slowly, Achilles disintegrated into particles of light, starting from the feet and up, leaving Nah with something ominous before he completely disappeared. “I dunno, you tell me?” For a while, Achilles had completely vanished before her eyes, but not before reappearing behind her, ready to startle the poor manakete.
As the other begins to develop a rather mischievous, almost devilish expression upon his visage, the Manakete can only furrow her brows in suspicion. While she has no idea what he’s up to, the girl can garner a few guesses... And due to her past, none of them are good. So when he just suddenly disappears, it only causes her to choke on her breath in surprise, her mauve hues widening for a moment.
Is he seriously a ghost?! Where on Earth did he go? Unsure of the answers, the teen simply looks around cautiously, taking a few steps back... Until he reappears suddenly behind her frame.
❝ AHHH--!! ❞ screaming and turning quite abruptly, Nah wastes no time in forcefully backhanding her attacker... Only to see that it’s not an assailant at all. Embarrassed but also angry at his actions, the Manakete stomps her foot at him, placing her hands on her hips.
❝ What’s wrong with you?! Don’t ever do that again; I could have transformed into a dragon and ate you! ❞

❝ Hmm? You’ve never seen one before? ❞ which, honestly, isn’t too outlandish; Nah hasn’t either until she arrived within this city.
❝ But no, it’s just as it entails; candy. It just has the shape of a cane... It typically has a mint taste. ❞
@scalecape
“Mm…” Arms crossed beneath her chest, the android stared with interest (not that it was easy to tell with her visor) at the menu of the cafe near her apartment. It seemed the ‘pumpkin’ drinks had been replaced with other things. “What is a ‘candy cane’, exactly? A weapon?” Nothing like a cane in your cocoa.
