Calla had heard the whimpering of a puppy in her line of hearing and quickly went to find the source. She was very easily a dog person. When a man turned around to face her and mentioned the puppy, she looked to the dog and smiled. “No, no! It’s okay! I just wanted to know where the noise was coming from!” She grinned, mostly at the dog. “Aren’t you a cute little thing?” She giggled.
Theo could tell that someone was staring at him and he couldn’t blame them. He was definitely the kind of person that brought his work home with him. The puppy in his coat shivered and licked his chin, whimpering a little. “Hush now,” he whispered into his coat. Eventually the stares had gotten to be too much and he turned to the person next to him. “He gets cold,” he grumbled. “Because he’s just a pup. And his mum abandoned him. So I keep him in my coat.”

"Darn, maybe another time." She chuckled and put his stuff down where he pointed out. Calla fixed her shirt once everything was in the truck and nodded. "I'm a bit of both. More perfectionist though." She nodded. After a moment, she bit her lip and smiled. "So, if you can't give me a ride in your fire truck, how about we grab some dinner tonight?" She blushed right after she finished speaking "Sorry, I must sound really stupid asking you out on a date."

Calla smiled at him and nodded when he mentioned needing help with getting things in his truck. However the siren comment had her feign excitement. “The siren? This is a dream come true!” She sarcastically joked, giggling right after. Right after, she grabbed one of his bags and shrugged. “No problem.” When he mentioned the kids wearing him out, she nodded. “They tend to do that. The trick is to like kids and drink a lot of coffee.” She grinned. “Then again, I’d be horrible at your job. I don’t like being fast about things.”

"Oh..." She mocked. "I'm a big tough brooding guy who can't talk about his feelings." She grinned, moving to step in front of him.
scaledcalla:
“You were talking to the air. I think I can answer without you arguing.” She pointed out. “So what’s wrong?”

“Actually, seeing as I wasn’t talking to you that makes it perfectly fine for me to argue with you.” He rolled his eyes, moving away from her before gritting out. “None of your business.”

“Well, you sound wonderfully optimistic.” The dark haired woman appeared near the man. “It’s not that bad.” She shrugged.

“This town is depressing.” He said to no one at all, assuming himself alone at the forest’s edge. Though his statement was weighted, there was something akin to fondness in his tone; almost as if he liked that it was so depressing, but that wasn’t the case. Maybe, just maybe, he liked that his misery finally had some company.

“Can you please not bother me right now?” She asked as she looked closer at her papers. She sat in the library, going over files and safety sheets for work, knowing she needed to concentrate. However, after a moment she looked to the source of the noise and glared a bit.

Calla sighed with Zara used the word friend on her. “Really?” She turned to face the woman who was pretty much in charge of her race with her family. “Friend isn’t the term I would use. I mean, your family did try to get me killed, I think.” She explained, shrugging. During the middle of her life, she had gone off the deep end. She had burned down towns and killed multiple people. She probably had a body count of 100 or so. She knew they were supposed to be peaceful, and Calla had simply gone out of line. “Look, whatever you want, I don’t have it.”
Tumblr media
“A few months. Interesting.” She mused, pursing her lips. It was, in an abstract sort of way - Zara did care about who wandered inside of her town’s limits, and even more so when that someone was Calla. “Really? Can’t even stick around long enough to catch up with an old friend?”

Calla didn’t notice her messing with her necklace since she usually did the same when sitting at work during a naptime for younger kids. “Wow, I wouldn’t be able to work nights. I wake up early as hell, but that’s it.” She sighed. “I take it you work as a restaurant or something?”
Tumblr media
“I feel that,” Sienna sighed, and she toyed with the ring that hung from a chain around her neck. “I work nights, usually - and jesus fuck, we get busy. It’s insane. It’s a literal wonder sometimes how I manage to make it back home safely because of how tired I get sometimes.”

She rolled her eyes and simply turned the music up louder on her earbuds. “Sorry! I can’t hear douchebags!” She yelled, nodding her head. She waited for the elevator even more before she hit the button again. Was it seriously broken again?
Tumblr media
“Okay - but true.” He replied, before pursing his lips in annoyance. He could still hear her song falling from headphones, something he really didn’t need to hear. “Hey, sweetheart -” Alexei called out loudly. “You wanna try turning that music down so the rest of us don’t have to hear it?”

“Not usually.” She nodded. “Usually I save those for when I’m trying to seduce someone. Especially the R&B.” She joked, smiling. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to bother you.”

“Evidently.” He smirked, leaning up against the wall. “You always sing nineties throwbacks in public or are you practicing for something ??”

“Calla. I go by Cal sometimes though.” She grinned. When she mentioned the friend, she nodded. “B13?” She asked, knowing some of the people that lived in the building. Not personally though.

Lucy burst out laughing. “Classic song. I’m Lucy,” she offered out a hand. “I was visiting a friend who lives a couple doors down.”

“I might.” She shrugged, giggling a bit afterwards. When the other offered her to come in for a drink, she chuckled. “You got me there. You’re just lucky that I don’t have to work tomorrow.” She explained, letting her arm loop with the other’s.
Tumblr media
“Tell me you’ve got Baby Got Back on there too ?? That’s my squats song.” Kitty grinned, finally finding her keys. Clinking them in one hand she slid her other arm through Calla’s. “In which case you have zero excuse not to come in and help me drink my bourbon.”

Calla approached the bar quickly after her shift ended. Kids wore her out on days like today. She ended up next to another girl and looked over. “Rough day?” She asked. “Rough week?”

Having a few people come into the day care to talk to the kids about what they did was normal. Today was a firefighter in town that Calla didn’t know anything about besides his name. She was simply told he’d be there on her shift to show the kids some equipment and tell them about his job. However, she didn’t expect for when he showed up to make her weak in the knees. She had to admit that he was highly attractive. She couldn’t help but look him over constantly while he talked to the kids. He was pretty good with them, but had to worry about some of the more troublesome kids talking while he was.
Time had passed as she sat on a chair next to the kids sitting on the ground. When it was time for them to have their playtime, she went up next to the man and smiled. “Well, thank you very much, Mr. Harley for telling us about your job.” She told him with a sweet smile. She then looked to the kids. “Okay, Miss Roberts is going to get you all sorted for playtime. You’re gonna be outside since it’s nice out.” She smiled at the cheer from the kids, and watched as Miss Roberts took over to take them outside.
Once the kids were gone, she looked to the man and held her hand out to him. “I’m Calla. Or Cal if you wanna call me that.” She chuckled. “You need help getting packed up?”
