art cheats

hello i am here today to not lose track of the art cheats i have discovered over the years. what i call art cheat is actually a cool filter/coloring style/way to shade/etc. that singlehandedly makes art like 20 times better

Now that I have a tungle I can lay claim for formatting and lining/coloring this for my amazing partner

its taken a hot second but finally here’s my addition to @rabdoidal’s excellent OC pirate crew!

-Father was French Navy and died before they were born

- They lived within the French colony of Martinique with their Mother who loved literature and named them Iphigenie

- Mother told them stories of father’s naval feats

- Mother died from illness when they were 7 and they were forced to live with family who hated them

- They finally ran away as a teen and stowed away aboard a French Naval vessel

- Due to their appearance and the fact they only ever dared to sneak above deck at night, French soldiers though they were a ghost haunting the ship

- When the crew of Scylla’s Revenge raided the ship one night, they found Speck

- Speck didn’t respond to the crew’s questions and upon asking a French soldier who they were, the soldier responded “Le Spectre!” (the ghost)

- The crew misheard this as Lespeck and ran with the name from that point on

- Speck doesn’t talk*, both because they can’t speak English and can only mostly understand it and also as a trauma response from the abuse they received from their family (*the only “person” they talk to is the spectral Eva [ @artofmisi ], but their conversations are PRETTY onesided. Speck is weirdly unafraid of her and basically treats her like anyone else on board)

- They work below deck as a powder monkey and also catch any rats or other pests that end up aboard the ship (as they often had to kill and eat rats to survive on the Naval vessel)

- They’re terrified of thunderstorms as they associate them with the night their mother died

- I personally think they would be most drawn to @chicoqore’s Rose, @brimstone-cowboy’s Kit, and especially @agaricandmoss’s Jean-Yves as she could translate any english Speck doesn’t understand
