Morality

Before she knew anything about powers and mutations, before she found out what she could really do, Scarlett was a completely different person. The girl especially put an accent on morality and fair play, making sure to always put a fine line between what was right and wrong. 

Finding out about her powers and then using them for the first time had an effect on Scarlett, which only became stronger in time, leading to her somehow losing that line. She isn't exactly moral at times and with Scarlett not having anyone that could point that out to her, the girl's losing the little bit of morality she has with every passing day.
