From Juniperclan's and Sedgeclan's perspectives, Dartingstar calls the shots. From Mossclan's? It's Lilydust. While Dartingstar is a very smooth talker and a skilled mediator, she has very little tactical skill when it comes to battles, and is quite lazy, choosing other cats for specialized jobs. Lilydust was chosen to be deputy for her intelligence and fierceness, with Dartingstar hoping that Lilydust would pick up the slack.

She was right.

Lilydust is a headstrong, unwavering, and fierce she-cat with a sense of loyalty to her kin that knows no bounds. They're excellent at planning beforehand, but often end up lost in the moment, which is why they prefer to work in teams. Lilydust's teamwork is what's garnered respect amongst her clanmates, and many feel more secure confiding in the silent deputy than in their more talkative leader. They're considered supportive, and a good mentor.

She has a sharp air of indifference to trouble that follows her like a second tail, and they don't have strong responses to important news-- good or bad. Their tight-lipped dignity makes for a good leader, but it's rather easy to tell when Lilydust thinks lowly of another cat. They take self-destructive risks and are unpredictable.

Cloudstar of Juniperclan (he/they)

Formerly known as Cloudburst, 45 moons, ???/9 lives remaining

kin: Lynxhollow (littermate, sister)

a large, muscular, battle-scarred tom with folded ears, pale blue eyes, and a long, well-groomed pelt.

fun fact about this guy!!! he HATES water. and unfortunately, with the swampy nature of (parts) of Juniperclan's territory, he unfortunately gets wet quite frequently, leaving him in a bad mood all day.

this dislike of water has led to Juniperclan expanding their hunting techniques and diets, though. at one point, they had been frequently fighting with Mossclan for control of the mangrove swamps, and while Cloudstar has continued thus crusade, he's begun to promote land-based prey among his clan, often leading exercises himself. while Cloudstar is a cruel, tough mentor, he is fair with his praise, and many cats of Juniperclan are tough enough to work through this criticism. He holds a very strong dislike towards those who are lazy and/or tardy, and has been seen berating apprentices who have strayed too far or have gotten too friendly with cats from other clans.

They hold everyone in high suspicions and constantly question the motives of others. He has trouble connecting with others, and shows little to no interest in making friends, enemies or relationships. He feels like his independence is all that he has-- and he teaches Juniperclan's apprentices to be self-reliant by changing their warrior assessments into spending a night "alone" in the woods (with a small patrol following and supervising at a distance).

He is considered very protective by many of his clanmates, and he frequently visits the nursery. Cloudstar wants to have a family of his own one day, although he's unsure about how he feels about biological kits.  They have a strong sense of loyalty and duty. They strive for autonomy, power, and freedom for Juniperclan.

Notably, Cloudstar only became leader of Juniperclan after Coralstar, now Coralspine, retired after a bloody battle with Sedgeclan where he mowed down their cats. The population gap between Sedgeclan and the other two clans can essentially be explained away by Cloudstar's presence and strategy in that battle. His battle prowress is renowned and there are whispers that he does not obey the warrior code, instead following his own morals, removing the perceived threats to Juniperclan.

Dartingstar of Mossclan (she/they)

(formerly known as Dartingkoi)

She's the oldest of the leaders (50m) (only by a few moons) but she loves to say it's made her infinitely wiser. Dartingstar has lost her lives relatively quickly (with just five lives remaining after a year in power), especially for a leader of Mossclan. They have lost no lives to conflict, and have forced Mossclan to stay quiet about her losses, concealing their weakness the best she can, knowing that Cloudstar would lead Juniperclan into conflict if he knew how reckless Dartingstar was with her lives.

Dartingstar is a sociable, charismatic character with lots of associates. they are known for charming their way out of unruly situations, and like to have a cat wrapped around their fingers at any given time. true to their prefix, she is rather flighty, and tend to partner-hop extremely frequently. despite their troubles to commit to others, they are a surprisingly loyal mossclan warrior, and will fiercely defend their clan and clanmates-- given that they like them. dartingstar is shallow, opinionated and direct. she's nearly impossible to get a good read on.

They're a surprisingly decent mentor, and are known for their unpredictable techniques. dartingstar forces their apprentices to track them down if they want training, and push a sense of determination onto their allies through their own elusivity. given the other cat manages to carry on, they're practically guaranteed a grade-a training, if they continue to persevere. dartingstar, if you manage to impress her, is a ride-or-die. they find it easy to cut intrapersonal ties. she would be manipulative, if she bothered to invest in the future of others aside from romantic endeavors.

in addition, they're known for collecting things!! almost always lurking by the twoleg camps or streams, dartingstar is always on the look out for shiny things. they've gotten into more than one petty squabble with a clanmate over a particularly enticing item, a trait that has carried over into her leadership. Dartingstar has consistently started petty conflicts with the other clans, and then left her deputy, Lilydust, to deal with the consequences.

more than a few trinkets lining the path into camp have been discovered in around Mossclan's main camp over the years. The leader's den is completely decorated with different shells, scales, stones, and bones. They're a social butterfly, and have surely helped unite the once segregated Mossclan.

Rookstar of Sedgeclan (they/she)

Formerly known as Rookfeather (39 moons)

the beastie mentioned in the previous post, and the leader of sedgeclan :3. she's the youngest of the three leaders, and they're genderfae!! she is also the only one of the three with outsider blood ;) if there's one thing to be said about rookstar, it's that she earned their position, and that they're more cunning than many believe. while she generally has good intentions, they will undeniably put their clan above any others. rookstar is known for their speed, diplomatic abilities, and loyalty. they also are semi-familiar with medicine, after spending some time in hospice after sufficient trauma to their left hindleg!

so!!! let me introduce yall to Sedgeclan :]

● Sedgeclan ●

The smallest of the clans, although their territory remains undisputed due to its formidable, disagreeable weather. They live in the alpine zone, far above the snaking path down to the mangrove swamp that Mossclan lives within. This area is rocky, and the vegetation is made up of small and crooked, ancient trees, lichen, and as anticipated, sedges. They live on a chilly moor above the timberline, and a sense of reverence towards their weather keeps these cats from straying too far- either that, or it fully drives them away. This clan has the most "lost kits," either to predators, or the (perceived) easier life within another clan.

These cats are quick, hardy, and stealthy. Sedgeclan is the most accepting of outsiders, and they're known for their caution.
