We're so grateful to have had such wonderful members and interesting muses, if only for a couple of months. We really appreciate everyone who took a chance on our group and hope you all enjoyed your time here, however brief it may have been.

˚. ✦.˳·˖ SUMMER STORM EVENT !

✦ WHEN: 10th - 18th of August

✦ WHERE: Gaeul Park, Residential Quarter

Cheosan's annual summer festival officially opens on the 10th of August at noon and will be open until midnight each day. The perimeter of Gaeul Park will be dotted with festival stalls selling food, beverages, and various local trinkets. Running through the middle of the park is a natural stream, along which will be picnic tables and spaces for picnic blankets. Close to the entrance of the park is a wooden building housing questionable public toilets - but at least the outside has been gussied up with colourful streamers to make it look a little more inviting. A makeshift stage will be erected for live music, anyone wishing to watch the performers can grab themselves a pillow to sit on. When it's finally dark enough, before the festival closes for the day, there will be fireworks displays too.

For the first few days, Cheosan's residents and tourists alike can enjoy the festival and the beautiful sunny weather. But on Wednesday the 14th, sudden summer storms will waterlog the park grounds, making it impossible to man the stalls, and causing the festival to be cut short.

The storms will continue for the rest of the week. They'll begin almost like clockwork around 7pm and continue well into the night, letting up around 2am. Each night, the echoes of cracking lightning and booming thunder will fade to give way to new sounds, coming from the forest surrounding the town. First, the creaking of trees, followed by what sounds like roots being violently ripped from the ground, then loud thuds as trees fall.

Forest rangers and willing volunteers will enter the forest in daylight to check out the damage, assuming they'll find fallen trees with roots loosened by the torrential rain, but everything seems to be the same.

Early Thursday morning is when the screams will begin. Distant at first, but with each passing hour they'll grow louder, echoing around town in a way that seems impossible. The mayor will release a statement on Thursday afternoon, telling people not to worry, that he has someone investigating the sounds but is almost 100% certain it's some kind of prank. Of course that's a lie to placate residents and tourists, and of course most people are content to believe it.

The source of the screams will not be found, at least not this time. Across town, several people will report witnessing odd shadows, flickering lights, and whispering voices in their homes and/or places of work. This will lead some to suspect that whatever is lurking in the forest is trying its best to lure people in.

Either way, Cheosan's Summer Festival will be a complete failure, but at least people will be talking about it for weeks to come. The videos posted about it online will inevitably attract more tourists, bringing more revenue with them, so all's well that ends well, right?
