page five: narcissus — a tags/navigation page with space for dropdowns and a search bar.
preview / code: pastebin, github

credits:

theme nine: lilac — one-column sidebar theme with an optional header inspired by social media post dashboards. made to commemorate the one-year anniversary of when i started this blog. it’s been a crazy year and i can’t believe how much this blog has grown, so thank you to all of you!
preview / code: pastebin, github
features and options:
sidebar with a 100px by 100px circular image and up to three custom links
optional header with a search bar, optional header image, and up to seven custom links. header image can be any height and is the same width as whatever post size you choose.
posts sizes: 400px, 450px, 500px, 540px.
option to show or hide captions, show tags or tags on click, optional post dropdown menu with extra post info.
options include: post margin, photoset gutter, drop shadows, rounded post and photo corners.
first npf photoset in a post will be converted to a regular photoset, thanks to this script by annasthms and codematurgy’s npf photoset script.
responsive for both desktop and mobile devices.
notes:
tumblr’s customize page is very buggy and when you first install the theme, you have to toggle the options on and off to get them to work properly. if something doesn’t look right or the post captions disappear, save and exit because 99% of the time it will look fine on your blog.
icons are from Feather Icons and if you want to change them, go to the site, find the name of the icon you want, and enter it in the space in the customization panel.

Base Code
preview + code
This base code covers the basics of HTML and CSS before getting into coding the actual theme. I pick apart the syntax for each language and give some examples as to why/how the syntax works. This is all done in the comments and can be deleted once you no longer need them.
I included options to toggle between header/sidebar and grid/single column and explain how to do them. This theme has no JS, so all of this is done with CSS.
This theme includes all the basic variables required for the theme garden, if you wish to upload your future themes there.
Other features:
Responsive
Dashboard style captions
Global appearance options
Since this is a base code, you are free to use this to build your own theme (or use it as a very simple theme by itself). If you are using this as a base code, you can remove the credit from the theme and replace it with your own. Please mention me in the post so I can see what you created with it!

Theme #23: RGBA(3)
The third theme from my RGBA series, consisting of themes that sync with your mobile appearance settings. It uses your icon, fonts, colors, and other display options from the mobile theme so you no longer have to wait till you get to your desktop to customize your blog.
With discreet navigation and an unobtrusive sidebar, this theme works excellently for content-first blogs, but you can enable the gradient borders to add a bit of flair as well.
If you like my work and want to support me, you can either donate or commission a custom theme :] if neither of those is an option then a simple reblog is very helpful too.

daddy
is this for the nickname thing or for the confession thing? either way, i am flattered. i do make excellent dad jokes. or is this just completely out of the blue? because in that case i would have to disappoint you and explain to you that i am not, in fact, your father, luke. i know for a fact that i have not conceived a child to this date, unless of course, you are a time-travelling child, in which case you are welcome to meet with me for coffee and discuss the future/alternate reality you have come from and your travel plans so far, as well as our legal situation regarding child custody etc.
however, the above statement you made can be interpreted very differently. i am unsure whether you are exclaiming (“daddy!”), stating (“daddy.”), or questioning (“daddy?”) and which connotations your utterance may bear. linguistically, the above expression lacks a predicate and is devoid of specification as to whether the noun in use serves as subject or object. since no context has been provided for this ellipsis, all interpretations are based in suggestions, mere hunches, and do not offer a stable basis for an accurate analysis.
such a simple word, yet the possibilities for interpretation are almost endless - is it a statement? a question? is it used in a familial context? or a sexual one? or is it possibly to be taken away from its common meaning and seen as a metaphor? is that metaphor to be applied to a social context? or a political, an economical, a philosophical one? could there be connotations to a meta-level of interpretation? is the intention of this expression to stir questions, or to expand horizons, or to find answers?
i am at a loss, here, dear anon. please enlighten me with further information, before this keeps me up all night.
