Hey hate to kill the fun but this didn’t happen :/ he died in January of that year. He was for the most part left alone after his release from Terminal Island (the medical facility he was in to serve the rest of his eleven years until his wife got him out on basis of declined mental faculties). Aside from reporters, Al was living peacefully with his family in his Florida estate until he died (which sadly got demolished in 2023).

In 1947, the U.S. government sought to try Capone again for various offenses, including contempt for failing to comply with a court order regarding his assets. The trial highlighted the ongoing efforts to hold him accountable for his past crimes, despite his declining health and diminished power in the criminal underworld.

The trial ended with a conviction for contempt of court, resulting in a sentence of six months in prison.

Enjoying the Godfather as a literary work is such a fucked up experience. The book has so much to say on the grooming, dehumanization, and hypocrisy within organized crime, but that’s all been overshadowed by the movie’s dampening of those themes in favor of sensationalism (and some meddling from the mob. I wonder why.) and its affiliation with manosphere culture. Only worse fate I can imagine is being into Norse history.
