How to choose the best Furnace for your Industry
If you’re looking for furnace installations, we recommend you first understand how to choose one. Taking this step back and help accelerate your purchasing decision in a much productive way.
It’s not just the quality that matters (which it does, largely), but also the service that comes with it. At Schomberg Heating & Cooling, we select suppliers and furnace products, and also conduct furnace installations. So, request a booking if you haven’t yet, and get your preferred furnace product requirements met.
Now, to get started, this post will tell you about the things you need to know before buying a furnace.
How to choose the best Furnace for your industry
The best way to choose a furnace that suits your industry requirements is to understand its different factors. Let’s first begin with the types of furnaces available in the market.
There are four types of furnaces, electric, oil, natural gas, and propane.
Electric furnaces are the cheapest among the four, and they run solely on electricity. They make for easy furnace installations and maintenance. An electric furnace works by pulling cold air into an exchanger. This is where the cold air is heated over heating elements, from which the hot air produced is pushed into the rooms through a duct.Electric furnaces do not produce any carbon monoxide, making it an ideal choice to buy.
Oil furnaces work by drawing oil from the tank into a burning chamber. Before this, the oil is converted into a mist then sprayed onto the burner. Upon being ignited, the air is pulled into a chamber near the burner where it is heated and sent back into the intended rooms or spaces.
Natural gas furnaces operate by igniting the natural gas of your furnace’s burner. The flames heat up a metal heat exchanger which heats incoming cold air from the designated rooms. For these furnaces, a flue pipe is required to prevent the leakage of poisonous gasses. A natural gas may cost more compared to an electric furnace, but offers easy and cheaper maintenance.
Propane furnaces do not require a flue pipe like natural gas furnaces do. A direct vent is fit beside it on the wall, eliminating the need for a periodic flue inspection. Propane furnaces are highly efficient as they burn less propane compared to what is required for natural gas furnaces.
Determining the AFUE rating
AFUE is Annualized Fuel Utilization Efficiency, and it reflects the volume of heat produced for every dollar spent. The higher an AFUE rating a furnace has, the lower the amount to spend on fuel.
Ideally, a 90-score on an AFUE rating is what you’re looking for because these are the most fuel-efficient furnaces. However, you must know thatthe higher the rating, the more expensive you’ll get them in the market.
So, now that you have an idea as to what types of furnaces are out there, it’s time to buy one. You can browse through our heating and air conditioning products and select the one best suited to your industry and requirements.

When is the right time for a new heat pump installation?
You’ve probably had a heat pump for a long time, and might not need a new one right away. You might think getting a new one is expensive, and you’re not sure about additional features. In this post, we’re here to take you through some pertinent reasons why you may need a new heat pump.
Reasons why you should do away with the old heat pump
So, how do you know it is time for a new heat pump installation? When your old heat pump creates the following problems:
Your old heat pump needs constant repairing–Older heat pumps shut down more often because of wear and tear. So, repairing on rare events is okay, but the problem is when it’s frequent. If your old heat pump is leading to frequent repairs, the costs start to add up.
Your old heat pump has crossed a decade – It’s great that your old heat pump has run for so long. However, their lifespan can manage five more years, which means over time, it will run less efficiently. Newer models may run more efficiently, creating the need for a new heat pump installation.
Your old heat pump causes high energy bills–Your energy bills have only risen in the past few months. Apart from cost inflation of the economy, your heating and cooling system is also be the culprit. The reason is that the old heat system has to work harder to produce the same level of efficiency as before. This leads to using up more energy from your power supply causing you to pay higher bills.
Your old heat pump is leaking out harmful gasses – Many companies add mercaptan to the heating unit. Mercaptan is a chemical that smells of rotten egg, and so when these gas units produce gas leakage, you’ll know. And if your heat pump is making your rooms constantly smell of rotten eggs, it’s time for a new heat pump installation.
Your heat pump is noisier than your music system – If your heat pump is creating a lot of noises when it’s operational, it’s time for a change. A heat pump generally has some unit sounds when it’s on, but you’ll know when the sound is disturbing and not normal. When this happens, you can either call the repair guy and get it fixed. However, if the problem persists then it’s time for a new heat pump installation.

What’s causing your Air Conditioner to Shut Down?
It’s always a terrible experience when your AC doesn’t work during the summers. We’re sharing ten ways that explain the causes leading to a complete shutdown of your air conditioner.
5 reasons why your AC isn’t working anymore
At Schomberg Heating & Cooling, we have a 24-hour air conditioning repair service for our customers who’ve purchased from us. So, if your AC stops working, you have to contact your air conditioning service people today.
Now, let’s get started with the 5 causes of a complete AC shut down.
The vent or thermostat is causing your AC unit to blow out warm air
Your AC may be blowing out warm air because the vent is closed or the thermostat needs fixing. Additionally, the unit is low on refrigerant, signaling a leak or that there is an issue with the fan.
A dirty air filter won’t allow your AC to start
A dirty filter or minor thermostat issue might cause problems when you try to turn on your AC unit. You can check whether the circuit breaker has tripped, if the AC shutoff switch is engaged. Also, if the AC drain pan beneath the unit is clogged or full, it can trigger the unit to get into safe mode, and so it won’t turn on. If these don’t work, then call our air conditioning maintenance service experts immediately.
The compressor refuses to work well
A compressor is part of the outdoor air conditioner or heat pump.It compresses and pumps the refrigerant whenever cooling is required. Sometimes, your compressor will shake when it starts, frequently trip your circuit breaker, blow out warm air, and make odd noises. These are simply the minor issues that a compressor can give you. The more major one is when the unit frosts over, overheats, or cycles frequently. This problem may be related to oil levels, the refrigerant, or pollutants in the system.
The cycling happens more often than before
The unit is programmed to sense the temperature of the room. However, when it cycles more than required, the issue is usually the compressor, fan, or another electrical issue. Without any experience in handling this problem, you should connect with our 24-hour air conditioning repair experts.
The circuit fuse connected to your thermostat blew
A blown fuse between your AC unit and the thermostat is like the battery of a car. When it’s blown out, you need to replace it pronto in order to get the unit started again. Try not to attempt to fix this problem by yourself unless you have special training. If you don’t, we’re right here, so connect with us!
There are several other reasons that can cause your AC unit to shut down on you. The best plan of action is to call your air conditioning maintenance people for a periodic check. The more you keep your AC maintained with the right services, the more efficient it will function for you.

Five signs that scream Emergency Furnace Repair
You’ve had a furnace at home for a long time, or you’ve recently purchased one. Something seems odd about the way it functions. And you’re wondering whether or not to get it checked. On the safer side, you might decide to call a repair guy but then the furnace starts to function well again. These subtle signs can go and come until one day, you need an emergency furnace repair. Let’s look at how a furnace operates and what are the signs that scream emergency furnace repair.
A brief understanding of how your furnace works
A furnace operates to cool your home, triggering its thermostat when the temperature at home reduces below ideal levels. In this process, a signal is sent to the burners in the furnace, leading to a flame lit, using either a small pilot light or a stick of silicone nitride. Silicone nitride is used in modern furnaces. Fuel used for the furnace mixes with the air inside the burner and then is ignited by the silicone nitride or pilot light, which burns in a controlled manner.
The heat exchanger absorbs the heat from the combustion process in the burners. Once the air rises up to a certain temperature, the blower in the furnace forces the heated air into the duct of the home and out through the registers. As a result, harmful gases like carbon monoxide are released and filtered out by a flue pipe.
Signs that call for an emergency furnace repair:
If your furnace functions on a pilot light and it shows a blue flame, that’s great! However, if it shows a yellow flame, it means that the gas isn’t burning hot enough. This could mean that your furnace is releasing unhealthy levels of carbon monoxide, leading to health and fire hazards.
Your furnace has a fan that runs based on the commands of the thermostat. If the fan continues to run despite it being set on auto mode, then you can call an emergency furnace repair. Make sure the fan is not in the ‘on’ mode.
If you are encountering pooling of water, an accumulation of steam, or water dripping from the walls of your basement, that’s bad! These are clear indications that your furnace has caused a leak or there’s a valve issue. So, turn your HVAC, boiler or furnace off and reach out to your emergency furnace repair experts.
If there’s no warm air coming out of your vents, something’s wrong. Your pilot light or burner is out, which means you need to call a professional to repair the furnace.
Sometimes, it’s difficult to detect a gas leak, unless companies add a chemical that smells like rotten eggs. That will get your attention, and the chemical is called mercaptan. So, gas leaks that smell like rotten eggs should signal you to call an emergency furnace repair technician.
At Schomberg Heating & Cooling, we choose suppliers and furnace products certified with ISO 9001-2008 quality. These criteria include quality checks like furnace product reliability, ability to manage the changing heating legislative requirements, and service and parts support. We maintain multiple product lines to meet every requirement that we face.
