A fun headcanon is that at least two of the big jewels Kid targeted actually had powers and was directly aiding his rivals. Funnily enough his own birthstones Alexandrite - helping Makoto see through him with the emerald meaning (One of its attributes it helping to see if your lover is “true” different meaning but it works nicely ,doesn’t it?) and protecting him from further physical damage with the ruby meaning. And the blue moonstone helping Conan better understand the emotional reality behind it and I believe why he was imaging he was having a conversation with Kid without Kid actually talking to him and it’s why it only happened that one time.

the concept that kaito has been stealing magic gemstones this whole time, they’ve just been the Wrong magic gemstones, is hilarious. iconic. “enchanted ruby of protection? pssh who needs it, I gotta keep getting sniped for the mystery immortality rock”

Ohhh boy chaper 1120 coming in with the Conan movie plot (disdain). Have you checked it out yet? Kid and Hakuba get done so dirty in wildly opposite ways...

LOL YEAH,,,, I’ve Been Keeping Up With It. I’m trying to avoid thinking too critically until it finishes up this plotline and for now just enjoy the ride of “haha character interaction funny” ajdjfhdjdjdhd

they do sure like to keep kid’s skills a liiiiittle inconsistent…. uh, I’m glad I finished writing ditto before this chapter came out, lol. there are,,, ok. there are a lot of ways that this could, in theory, go fine, while staying mostly in-character. plenty of theoretical plot twists or scenarios. kid could actually be right, but for different reasons. he also could be like “lol just testing ur skills as a fellow detective” and then the problem is solved. hakuba could ask kid to prove that he’s a genius detective, or challenge him to some kind of competition, to which kid “deducts” everything about hakuba (using everything kaito knows about him lol).

idk, like,,, the current situation feels a little bit to me like a set-up for something, though I’m not sure what. but it’s been too simple so far, lol. something’s gotta come up in 1121 that upsets the whole thing.

from the pov of a writer that’s kinda bad at figuring out mysteries, I’d say there are lots of reasons why a gun used for a suicide could have a silencer. framing a suicide as a murder could have all sorts of motives, from getting kaitou kid arrested/accused/defamed to insurance claims to both to anywhere in-between. maybe kichida used something in the room to fix the issue of the silencer making the gun too long. at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if the body turned out to be fake or weird somehow—how was it affected by the humidity? are there any related clues in the body’s first stages of rigor mortis? honestly I almost think he was dead way before this and got replaced by somebody or something, because of the coughing in the beginning and how he wouldn’t talk. or maybe he was poisoned or sick, and decided he only had one way out? idk. just… rarely are detco cases this cut-and-dry with the clues.

and as for the movie plot… lol. yeah. uh. oops. kid-dressing-up-as-shinichi-all-the-time trope is Hilarious, but my biggest issue with it is that,,, like,,, now that shinichi has kid pinned down as One Of the Guys That Look Like Him, all it would take is seeing kaito randomly on the street somewhere to put 2 and 2 together. it’s a Big big risk to his identity, which will now more or less rely on shinichi’s honor code to stay secret. rip.

Aoko and Makoto would make nice friends too even if the few things they’d have in common is passionately disliking Kid and thinking Sonoko is amazing. (Like correct me if I’m wrong but the thing that drew him to her is her passionate support of her friends.) Thinking about him teaching her some karate or something.) Not as instant besties as Sonoko &Aoko or Sonoko & Kaito but I think it would be a sweet refreshing and chill dynamic.

Imo the funniest thing would be if she didn't kill but 1) knew ALL about murder to make the fake blood spray and fake murder look realistic and 2) talked about her heist scenes like she really killed the police and guards there instead of like, sedatives and fake blood and giving everyone three different kinds of heart attack when they stumbled upon the aftermath. Like "so then I killed the guard—" "you mean he fainted from the shock of you sticking a retractable plastic axe on him" "Yeah so I killed him and then-"

I'm tempted to start reading The Fiend With Twenty Faces for inspiration or something, we really know too little about Chikage! Sad (though from what I've heard he's similar to Arsène Lupin so it'll probably more KID-like in MO)

ADJFHSJD YES. I don’t think she’d actually murder anyone, but she would Absolutely say she did. just for the sheer hilarity of it. and the name of the phantom lady gets retired, so there aren’t even any consequences! “hehe im an assassin >:) “ maam you married a man because you thought his sheer audacity was attractive and you taught your child parkour for fun. retractable plastic axe has me wheezing—chikage would be a NIGHTMARE with one of those little grabby sticks. you know the ones.
