I don't think I've seen actor Jay Harrington in anything, but he's got a wonderful face so I decided to paint his portrait utilizing every skill I've learned in Portrait Drawing art class.

A portrait of myself when I was twenty years old and working for the military in 1989. I drew it in pencils, painted it over with watercolors and pasted a couple of CD-covers in of what I listened to back then.

Two works from Portrait Drawing art class. The first one is a 40-minutes study which the model liked so much she purchased it from me. The other is a 50-minutes study. The arm doesn't look quite right, but the face turned out great.

A huge double portrait of my BFF and me as we looked on my thirtieth birthday in 1998. It's pencils painted over with watercolors. And then I pasted a few CD covers and a poster on it.

We had two sisters as models in Portrait Drawing art class and I did a 40-minutes watercolor study of each. The first one turned out fine, but in the second her hair got too high, so I tried correcting that by adding background color over it. Oh, well...

This week in Portrait Drawing art class there was no warm-up drawing. Instead we went straight into a 40 minutes pose followed by a 60 minutes pose. I think both of my watercolor studies turned out fine, but it shows in the second that I had twenty minutes extra.

THE MORE THINGS CHANGE, THE MORE THEY STAY THE SAME: Last year I made a song drawing for Eric Carmen's All By Myself with me on Tinder. This year I'm still single, but now trying my luck on Grindr, LOL.

Things were back to normal at Portrait Drawing art class with a 20-minutes warm-up drawing that I decided to do in pencil and two 40-minute poses which I did in watercolor. I didn't get done with the first watercolor study because I took my time getting the tilt of the head right and then I sorta rushed through the second.

Five 20-minute pencil drawings from the latest Portrait Drawing art class where us pupils had fun drawing each other. After the first two drawings in rough pencil, I switched to a thinner pencil.

This week in art class, there was no model, so we pupils took turns drawing each other. So here's three 20-minute drawings of classmates I did before I posed for them for 40 minutes.

Today it's been two years since my mother passed, so I remembered her by painting a new portrait of her using all the skill I've learned in Portrait Drawing art class since then.

Another attempt at sexy portrait painting in watercolors. We don't get models like this in Portrait Drawing art class, so I did this at home after a photo and took all the time I needed beyond the limited time we get in class.

Three works from Portrait Drawing art class. The first is a 20-minutes warm-up drawing in oil chalk colors and the big one is a watercolor study done in 40 minutes. The teacher liked that one. There was also a female model and the pencil drawing of her was done in 10 minutes.

This week we had two models in Portrait Drawing art class. First is a 20-minutes warm-up drawing in oil chalk colors and then two 35-40 minutes watercolor studies. I could have used more time for both so they feel like unfinished works, but I did still get a lot of praise for the painting of the female model.

Looking back at the A3 charcoal drawings I did of men four-five years ago and then at this brand-new A2 watercolor painting, I think I can conclude that I have really evolved as an artist since then. I pencilled the man before adding watercolor and I think it turned out really well.
