I say this as a forensics professional: that’s, uh…actually a really good idea Terry.

Due to a recent encounter, I have been thinking about boundaries and friendships and dating.
And, because I’m me, I’m thinking about this through the lens of stories.
It makes me want, more than usual (which is already a lot), to be like a fae.
I want the rules to be written in books and taught to children in rhymes. I want the knowledge to be a warning.
I want all the tricks and traps to be spoken aloud. I want all the spikes to be worn on the outside.
I want to know that if you consume more than I offer, that there will be consequences
I want you to remember to *ask* if what you take is freely given. I want you to *need* to ask.
I want you to wear cold iron in a bottle round your neck and when you break it I know all treaties we’ve made are null and void.
I would like you to be able to hang a horseshoe on the door and know that you are safe.
I want to know that if the time comes that I must leave all I have to do is find my selkie skin, regrow my tail and swim away.

Pro-Palestine protestors are being arrested less than a mile away from me as I type this. They have done nothing except block a street. A loud minority at our college is posting things like (quotes) “Smoke bomb them already” “beat the fuck out of these protestors plzzzzz @uapd” “get these filthy animals out of here” as well as transphobic comments. The rest of us are either at the protest or attempting to speak in favor of Palestine on social media. The protest was about Raytheon funding Israeli weaponry, and UA has financial ties to Raytheon. Please show as much support for this movement as you can. We are all recording university texts to stay away as police are on the scene. People are risking their graduation and safety.

WIP Drinking Game
Thank you to @darkangel319 for the tag!
Rules: describe a drinking game for your wip.
For Fear Not, drink when...
Cain makes a bad decision
They get on a hovercraft and fly to a secondary location
Cain and Mackenzie argue with each other
Hal misses Ley's very obvious flirting
Azra makes a reference to steampunk basketball
There's a heartwarming family moment
The amount of brain cells in the room is below three
This was an interesting one considering that I don't drink, and am in fact technically legally not allowed to drink, but I think I did okay ha :) and this was a pretty good exercise for my wip <3
I think I'll pass the tag along to (if they're willing) @spideronthesun, @kaylinalexanderbooks, @whatwewrotepodcast and anyone else who wants to join! Have fun!

Doxxing myself slightly but here’s some photos I just took at University of Arizona.

The fact that this pro-Palestine rally was happening was very hushed up until the moment it started. There were some people holding Israel flags in opposition nearby but everything is peaceful and intended to remain that way. People are singing and handing out flyers. If you live in the area and want to support, they are hoping to be around the entire day and possibly through the night and could use snacks and water donations if you’re unable to donate money to charity. Reblogs and shares to places like Instagram are requested and appreciated.
The goal is for companies like Raytheon to divest from funding weapons to Israel.

I sat next to the protest today.
I wrote fan-fiction about two gay jewish dads raising children to the play list of the chant- "No peace on stolen land!" on an American college campus. It isn't a name brand one either, nor does it have any legitimate ties to Israel. The anger is just there- it has rotten these future doctors, nurses, teachers, and members of society.
I don't even know what to call their demonstration- it was a tizzy of a Jew hatred affair. At points, there were empathetic statements about Gazans and their suffering. Then outright support of Hamas and violent resistance against all colonizers. Then this bizarre fixation on antisemitism while explaining the globalists are behind everything.
"Antisemitism doesn't exist. Not in the modern day," A professor gloated over a microphone in front of the library. "It's a weaponized concept, that's prevents us from getting actual places- ignore anyone who tells you otherwise."
"How can we be antisemitic?" A pasty white girl wearing a red Jordanian keffiyeh gloats five minutes later. "Palestinians are the actual semites."
"there is only one solution!" The crowd of over 50 students and faculty cried, over and over.
"Been there, done that," I thought, then added a reference to a mezuza in the fourth paragraph.
Two other Jewish students passed where I was parked out, hunching and trying to be as innocuous as possible. We laughed together at my predicament, where I am willingly hearing this bullshit and feeling so amused by this.
"Am I crazy? For sitting here?" I asked them. My friends shook their heads.
"We did the same last week- it's an amazing experience, isn't it?”
We all cackled hysterically again. They left to study for finals. Two minutes later, I learned from the current speaker that “Zionism” is behind everything bad in this world.
Forty-five minutes in, a boy I recognized joined me on my lonely bench. He came from a very secular Jewish family and had joined Hillel recently to learn more about his culture. His first Seder was two nights ago.
He sat next to me, heavy like the weight of the world was on his shoulders. There was just this despondent look on his face. I couldn’t describe it anyone else, but just sheer hopelessness personified.
“They hate us. I can’t believe how much they hate us.” He said in greeting.
And for the first time all day, I had no snarky response or glib. All I could do was stare out into the crowd, and sigh.

This week someone at my library took all of our transgender nonfiction books they could find, put them in the trash can, and poured water on them.
Our library is now displaying a bunch of queer/LGBTQ+ books front and center by the entrance doors while we wait for replacement copies of the specifically trans ones.
So thanks, transphobes, from the large chunk of us in the shelving staff who are transgender/nonbinary.
Edit: Hit up my NB friend who works at another branch and they’ll be putting aside display room for trans books at that location too. We fight back harder. <3
