I don't hate tamaki btw. tamaki is such an important character bc despite doing something despicable she's not meant to be a villain, she's a painfully accurate representation of a young person who has had her perception of consent and healthy sexual boundaries warped by her past experiences. it's heavily implied that tamaki was coerced into sex by previous boyfriends, she brought that sexual trauma into her relationship with miwa and when she got frustrated with miwa's higher libido she thought she could fix the situation by forcing herself on miwa when both of them were clearly uncomfortable and unhappy. miwa isn't perfect either, she was pushy and self-centered and didn't try particularly hard to accommodate tamaki's differing sexual needs, but none of that creates a precedent in which sexual assault/rape is acceptable and that's why both of them came out of that relationship damaged (miwa moreso since she was literally assaulted and tamaki clearly had sexual trauma beforehand that miwa was not responsible for).

miwa and tamaki never would have worked out because they weren't compatible, which creates a parallel to saeko and yuria; however, while saeko and yuria were able to end their relationship in a healthy way because they had learned to communicate well and understand their own needs, tamaki and miwa had become unhealthily fixated on each other, had tried to "make things work" in increasingly unhealthy ways, and while they behaved amicably towards each other at the end it's very clear that they're both worse off than they were when they started, with tamaki housing resentment towards miwa for ending things and miwa being traumatized by the way tamaki had vilified her sexuality and violated her sexual boundaries. nobody in this manga is a villain, but everyone does things to hurt the people they care about due to their own self-centeredness, which is a really accurate representation of how relationships work. miwa and saeko aren't endgame because they're soulmates or whatever, it's because they've both grown as individuals and learned what they need out of a relationship. but with miwa working through sexual trauma now, it's clear they still have a ways to go before they can figure things out in a way that is healthy and fulfilling for both of them.

Logan having had one last chance to see his family all together at Connor’s wedding but deciding to skip it for a business deal is such a delicious bookend. His last day on earth! Roman and Connor still holding out their hands please dad please just come. Even after all the frustration boiled over and they’d all said their piece and held their ground it all ended right where it started. And the choice to have no shots of his face as he was dying as a representation of the truest version of Logan the children knew. A faceless man an insurmountable distance away, unresponsive to any amount of crying or cursing or pleading. The memory of the last time they were all together will be of him turning his back.
