          “  𝐡𝐦  ,  𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲  𝐧𝐨𝐭  𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐨  𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐞  ‘cause  i  don’t  like  the  stuff  but  string  cheese  ,  that’s  a  definite  contender  .  ”  he  responds  after  a  few  moments  of  thought  ,  shoulders  shrugging  easily  as  they  walked  on  towards  the  museum  .  “  hey  if  you  like  vegan  chocolate  ,  then  who  cares  ?  i  like  dark  chocolate  and  people  call  me  crazy  so  i  guess  neither  of  us  are  much  better  than  the  world  is  your  oyster  people  but  at  least  we  have  each  other  ,  ”  glancing  down  to  their  now  interlinked  hands  ,  he  doesn’t  think  much  of  it  ,  instead  as  they  finally  approach  the  museum  steps  ,  he  leads  her  to  the  entrance  .  “  don’t  think  i’ve  ever  been  to  this  place  before  ,  not  that  i  go  to  many  museums  but  it  looks  pretty  grand  from  the  outside   .  ”

“  are  you  trying  to  say  you  like  me  raf  ?  ”  she  teases  with  a  small  smile  .  she  nods  her  head  in  agreement  ,  “  i  like  dark  chocolate  and  strawberries  ,  they’re  really  good  ,  what  is  it  called  when  you  mix  two  things  together  ?  ”  sunny  immediately  begins  doubting  herself  ,  “  sorry  that  was  probably  really  stupid  ,  you  sure  you  can  stick  with  me  through  moments  like  those  ?  ”  her  self  deprecation  is  nothing  new  ,  and  neither  are  their  interlocked  hands  .  “  it’s  no  paris  museum  ,  but  it’ll  do  .  ”  she  leads  him  up  the stairs  and  into  the  museum  ,  there  are  people  littered  about  admiring  different  works  of  art  ,  the  one  consistent  factor  in  all  of  them  is  the  semblance  of  raf  .  whether  he  be  in  the  background  or  the  sole  focus  .   “  surprise  !  i’m  the  friend  ,  and  you  are  my  muse  .  that’s  probably  really  weird  i  just  mean  you  inspire  me  to  follow  my  passion  ,  and  i  was  too  nervous  to  invite  you  to  my  art  show  ,  so  i  figured  i  would  just  lead  you  here  instead  .  ”  she  sheepishly  ,  her  shoulders  tense  ,  “  sorry  ,  this  was  a  mistake  .  you  can  go  .  ”

          𝐡𝐞  𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐬  𝐬𝐡𝐞  𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐧'𝐭  𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝  for  such  a  corny  sentence  to  be  strung  together  but  it  made  him  smile  nonetheless  ,  head  shaking  in  amusement  .  “  i’ll  admit  that  was  a  lil’  cheesy  ,  who  knew  you  had  it  in  you  ?  ”  he  teases  before  nodding  in  approval  ,  he  wasn’t  particularly  artistic  himself  but  he  knew  sunny  was  and  if  that  was  what  she  wanted  to  do  ,  he  was  for  it  .  “  a  harvard  student  ?  like  a  friend  of  yours  or  something  ?  art  museum  sounds  like  fun  though  ,  lead  on  ,  little  miss  sunshine  ”  raf  asks  ,  shoulders  shrugging  in  response  ,  either  way  he  knew  how  to  appreciate  art  .  “  honestly  ,  i  wish  i  knew  .  it’s  just  a  saying  people  use  .  the  world  is  your  chocolate  bar  has  a  nice  ring  to  it  too  .  if  you  and  i  say  it  enough  times  maybe  we  could  make  it  a  thing  .  ”

          “  i’m  just  full  of  cheese  raf  ,  not  literally  but  that  would  be  really  cool  wouldn’t  it  ?  but  then  what  kind  of  cheese  would  i  be  made  out  of  ?  nacho  cheese  ?  spray  cheese  ?  string  cheese  ?  ”  sunny  knew  she  wasn’t  the  smartest  but  her  antics  made  others  laugh  and  that’s  all  that  she  could  ask  for  .  was  it  weird  to  bring  your  crush  to  an  art  exhibit  that  he  was  the  sole  focus  of  ?  probably  ,  but  her  entire  life  had  been  about  expressing  herself  through  art  ,  and  she  hoped  this  would  be  enough  .  “  sure  ,  a  friend  of  mine  .  ”  normally  it  was  weird  hearing  her  full  name  , but  coming  from  raf  it  felt  more  like  a  compliment  .  “  well  i  eat  vegan  chocolate  bars  ,  so  i  guess  i’m  not  much  better  than  the  people  who  say  the  world  is  your  oyster  .  ”  she  grabs  his  hand  ,  surprsing  even  herself  ,  “  let’s  go  the  museum  isn’t  that  much  further  from  here  ,  a  few  more  steps  really  .  ”

         sunny  smiles  at  him  ,  an  immediate  response  to  being  anywhere  in  his  general vicinity  .  “  as  long  as  i’m  with  you  ,  it  doesn’t  matter  .  ”  her  doe  eyes  widen  at  her  own  words  ,  “  that  was  super  dorky  ,  but  we  could  go  to  the  art  museum  !  i  hear  that  there’s  this  harvard  student  who’s  having  her  artwork  shown  there  today  .  ”  the  blush  that  lines  her  face  when  he  speaks  to  her  is  unmatched  ,  the  red  hue  unbearably  noticeable  .  “  wait  people  say  that  ?  why  ?  i  have  had  oysters  and  i  would  rather  the  world  be  a  chocolate  bar  .  ”

matteo’s  eyes  narrowed  on  the  ice  cream  selections.  “looks  like  we  got  a  tough  decision  to  make.”  he  leaned  against  the  freezer  door,  his  hands  in  his  pockets.  he  licked  his  lips  and  chuckled.  “we  should  definitely  get  both.  that’s  why  you’re  the  genius  and  i’m  your  trusty-dusty  assistant.”  he  pushed  off  the  doors  with  a  start.  “i’m  thinking…sprinkles?  preferably  rainbow.  thoughts?” 

sunny’s eyes scanned over him, usually she wouldn’t be so obvious with her affections. “we could get one of everything, and make a huge sundae!” she remarks her eyes lighting up at the premise. “you know what you might be on to something, this is the best idea i’ve ever had.” she let out a soft ‘hm�� as if to question her crave for sprinkles, “we could get a bunch of toppings too! i’m talking sprinkles, syrup, candy, everything.” she reaches for his hand. “you with me?”
