I just finished a podcast called Unwell: A Midwestern Gothic Mystery. Lily Harper moves to the small Ohio town of Mount Absalom to take care of her estranged mother, Dot, when Dot breaks a leg. In addition to dealing with her mom, the boarding house she runs, and the usual cast of small town eccentrics, Lily has to engage with the local Conspiracy, all the ghosts, and the possibility that the boarding house is alive.

It's a fully voiced, beautifully soundscaped audio play. The series is complete, running a little over 30 hours. The story is funny, touching, and suspenseful; it brought me near tears and made me laugh out loud, sometimes all at once. It's also LGBTQ and neurodivergent positive, which felt especially nice, given how the world is right now.

Look 'em up wherever you get your podcasts. It's worth your ear-time.
