I kinda like how Friede, the original leader and founder of the Rising Volt Tacklers, and Gibeon, the original leader of the new Explorers and one of its original co-founders, despite being generations apart, both formed their groups (and in Gibeon's case the name) through the influence of a member of Lucius's bloodline.

Gibeon co-founded the original Explorers alongside Lucius and Rystal, and he was especially close with Lucius, who coined the name for them. He cherished the connection he had with Lucius so much that despite claiming Lucius "betrayed" him, he carried on the name Explorers for his whole life, and through Hamber formed the new group.

Friede formed the RVT after he met Cap, a meeting Lucca, Liko's mom (and by extension a descendant of Lucius) and Friede's mentor figure, arranged after she realized Friede was at a point where he was aimless in his life path. Cap and Friede's meeting led Friede to discover the wonders of the world and form the RVT with Orla and Ludlow, a meeting that happened because of Lucca.

The groups crossed paths over Liko, the newest member of Lucius's lineage. Diana and Hamber's friendship indirectly led to it as well, Diana being the granddaughter of Lucius and Rystal, and Hamber having met Gibeon and forming the new Explorers team with him, especially after Diana passed down the pendant (Pagogo) to Liko. And that sprung Liko into adventures she never imagined she would have.

There's something inherently neat about how in a way, Lucius and the direct descendants of his bloodline just have this knack for bringing people together, and it's a trait that persists across generations, right down to Liko herself, even if it manifests in different ways at times.

No matter in what way and how though, it's always with Lucius and those bearing his blood as the centerpiece of it all. They have this magnetic presence that just draws people together around them. That's seemingly the biggest defining trait of Lucius and his lineage.

Thinking about how the beach Amethio is found at, the one shown in the picture with him and his mom, is now confirmed to be the place of the only family vacation he ever went on.

Before he lost his mom, and his dad became a workaholic deadbeat.

He claims he was too young to remember it, but in his heart, that place holds sentimental value, because deep down, he knows that was the last time he ever felt true joy and wonder in his life. The last time he felt the warm love of his blood relatives. The last time he was truly happy. And that's probably why he's there of all places.

I think he hides how much grief he has about it deep down. Back in Episode 89, the final episode before the timeskip, when Gibeon touched Amethio lovingly before he fully passed on, Amethio had a look of shock in his face. That was the first time in a long, long time he felt the warm touch of someone he has blood ties with, of someone who was family to him.

He can't get his family back but it's kinda clear that he's where he is now because he doesn't really know what path he truly wants to take, what path he should walk down. Most of his life that he remembers is training, getting stronger, in hopes of becoming a worthy successor to Gibeon, alongside Coral, Sidian, and Chalce under Hamber's tutelage. Going through harsh training and difficult missions, all with the goal of getting stronger. That's the only life he's ever known.

His Tera catchphrase is "I will cut my own path forward!". But while he's now gained the courage to be willing to walk his own path, he still doesn't have anyone who can guide him down the path he ought to take, especially now that Gibeon is gone. No one in the modern Explorers does for that matter. The one life Amethio has known is also the only life the other three admins in the Explorers have known.

He ought to learn the true joys of friendship, and the wonders and beauty of the world. Something the RVT had learned through their travels and adventures aboard the Brave Olivine. Maybe Liko can show him that, and him first. Just like Lucius once did with Gibeon long ago. Or how Friede discovered the wonders of the world through Cap, a meeting that happened thanks to Lucca. The RVT formed thanks to Lucca, in that way. She was Friede's guiding light.

Perhaps that's what Amethio truly needs, and so do the rest of his fellow Explorers members. That is the missing puzzle piece they, especially Amethio, had been missing for so long.

And perhaps Liko should be the one showing him that. She's now carving her own legacy forward, and has found the strength to forge her own path forward thanks to her friends, and this adventure is now truly her own. Now it's her turn to show Amethio that too.

I think after he became a research fellow he started working on the dex, it would be a pretty cool easter egg if this was intentional, it would also indicate a time skip from pokemon journey's onwards, who knows? Ashy boy might be an adult now q-q

Spinel has circles all over his design while the other four Explorers admins have edge-shapes in theirs.

Amethio is triangles, Coral is rectangles, Sidian is rhombuses, and Chalce is trapezoids.

Spinel is circle themed, aka a shape with no edges whatsoever, while the other four have straight-line edged shapes with distinct numbers of sides. Amethio is associated with a three-sided shape while Coral, Sidian, and Chalce are varying flavors of four-sided shapes.

Really highlights Spinel as the odd one out among them.
