I initially created RGBestia as a plushie to hold stickers for my sticker lottery, but I love her so much I found a place for her in my universe.

RGBestia is a gaming icon in Floartemia, something akin to Mario or Sonic. there's a lot of games about her.

she is based on a real in-universe pet (it's a Classic Animal, I'll post more about the species at some point but let's just say it's a common pet in Industria) named Mordka. Mordka was saved by a programmer after she lost her fangs and most of her front legs to a territorial fight with other feral animals. never got them back, but she got better and is still alive and well 20 years later, though both her and her owner stopped making appearances at big gaming events due to her old age.

RGBestia herself is a creature which comes from the Computer and is often portrayed as a little troublemaker who teases the player by stealing the cursor and eating the interface. but she knows when to get serious and in her most popular games (usually platformers) she fights feral hardware and terrifying viruses. and she's pretty good, as long as nobody steps on the tip of her tail…

I'm releasing my first long comic, printed, this weekend at the Warszawskie Targi Fantastyki this weekend!

since I only post in english here I'll keep this brief - the comic is written in polish and only available in Print for now. I have plans for an online release and english version, buuut you'll have to wait for that. and I will have to come up with a whole new title, as Nowe Oczko w Głowie (lit. "new eye in the head") loses some meaning in translation.

Time to introduce the last of the 4 types of cat that live on the continent of Floartemia (named for all types of cats that live there): the flocats, and specifically Mangifer!

Flocats are half-plant, they grow on plants, they originate from a monstrously huge forest, and if you live in a jungle that deep and need the sunlight - you gotta start reaching for it, by living in the branches. That comes with a lot of inconvenience, which local flocats mitigate by just being ridiculously agile.

Magifer is just that - in his element, he can get anywhere in a blink of an eye. On flat ground... not so much, but he makes do. He switches between being a guide in the forest, and various performances when he feels like travelling further, including some circus troupes and appearing in a few movies (mostly as a stunt double though).

Jammy time! Jammy's one of the characters whose name got translated for anything I might do in Polish, because Jammy doesn't exactly fit for some reason. so, Dżemik it is.

Anyways, Jammy is a third type of cat, an arcat! Arcats live in Arcatia and are the majestic magical type of cat people, who usually levitate a little above ground, and usually they study a chosen field of magic. they can have elemental powers, or telekinesis, maybe even be able to see into the future...

But Jammy is a bad example of that, as he's not very interested in magic. he knows the basics, like floating, but other than that, he's mainly passionate about industrian culture (Industria is the country tecats come from, such as Tea Ktok). he likes their comfy fashion, cheesy romcoms, advanced tech and huge cities.

you know what. it is atrocious how little art of Tea Ktok I post. here's Tea Ktok. named after how her first concept was a time-traveller, but then I scrapped that idea. and then they named an app that everyone hates after her. cool.

Tea is a tecat - a type of cat which only develops into an anthropomorphic creature because of a brain-altering chip inserted into their brains at a young age, and whose civilization overall depends on their technological advancements. They often have other tech in them - like Tea's eyes, which have been replaced with electronics due to poor eyesight.

Tea is recognizable by her odd poses and flailing movements. she's like if an inflatable tube man had bones. Rumors say she has some fancy mechanical joint support, but actually she has an additional balance mechanism installed in her head, specifically to allow her to keep flailing around. and also to stop getting off-balance every time she unavoidably slams her ears into a door frame.

a comic about Tea is in the works once more, & I hope to get it printed by April! then I'll think about translating it to english and online release, probably.

drawing hasn't been going great in the last few months, but this week I upgraded to a display tablet and I think it's about time I just straight up posted some cat again.

this is Mip! she's not exactly a cat hybrid, more of a sentient cat replica that's partially made of fish parts. there's more of them, they live normal lives like any other cat.

Mip may appear to be distractible and hyperactive at first, but I guess that's what comes with having huge eyes, excellent perception and being good at registering information for later. really, when Mip is on a task, she's ON THAT TASK. but observing and remembering everything else, just in case.

yo quick update,

I'm changing my art tumblr and instagram to screbelbaziu to keep them consistent, I will probably be posting a little more on instagram this year, however

plan is to keep insta in polish and tumblr in english. since polish people interact with my insta more anyway and I kinda do stuff in both languages

since that frees up the screbel url, changing my main tumblr to that

might change twitter too, nobody cares, I don't post on twitter

and while I'm here - I haven't been posting 'cause I'm drawing a comic, I'm about 15 pages deep into that. it's written in polish but the plan is to make an english version as well, a little later

the computer animal, the RGBeast, I haven't fully decided on her name but here she is!

this was freestyle sewing so there's no pattern and I'm not making another one if these. I forgot to include front legs and she's perfect without them. I tried giving her a nose but it sucked. computers don't have noses though so that's all just as planned.

she has storage space inside, you can fit an entire monster energy in there - she was supposed to be the thing people at conventions have to face if they want to pull out a random sticker, but I am rethinking it because I don't like the idea of people I don't know touching her. especially since I was not able to make cleaning this beast convenient in any way.

some updates below tho!

I've been super busy with sewing for conventions - which goes slower the more I repeat a pattern and stresses me out every second I'm not doing it, so now I'm taking a hiatus from actually selling - which I want to go back to maybe in like december? - and I will be focusing my efforts on art. and specifically comics, which I've been picking up and putting down every now and then for YEARS now I NEED to finish a thing holy shit.

I have in fact finished an 8-page comic for a polish creature horror zine, dreszczyk, and that is really cool, I'm fairly happy with the comic, it features my favorite Beast, it is going to be printed amongst other cool creature comics and multiple additional people will learn that I have broken my spine.

this brings us toooo one more thing: I have been making stuff in english mostly, but I will be moving on to writing primarily in polish and then translating/rewriting in english if I have the time & energy. as a game tester I have to use more english than polish on daily basis and it is making me increasingly bad at constructing polish sentences, and that upsets me actually.

most likely I will be posting some stuff relating to my worldbuilding soon - polish versions to instagram where I'm followed by all the people I meet at conventions because apparently every polish person is there and collectively agreed to use that infuriating garbage of a platform, and then english versions here, for all the approx. 3 people who interact with my posts.

I have also deleted all of Memory Lapse off of tumblr. sorry, I know it had a few fans, but I'm mad about it so there. if anyone wants it I can archive it somewhere in like a google drive or something. it will be renewed and improved. I'm working on it right now.
