hey neil idk if you’re the best person to ask but i would like to think you have some sadge advice or something. as an introvert how do you deal with going to funerals and that whole interaction with people trying to support people and people trying to support you? It’s all strange and weird to me. thanks.

You remind yourself that this is not a usual thing for anyone, and that everyone is dealing with their own personal reactions to what's happened, with grief or loss or just the weirdness of it all. And you look after yourself.

And take refuge in things that people say. "I'm sorry for your loss", or "May their memory be a blessing" or "Thank you so much" when people offer their own condolences. It's formulaic but it works.

the Columbia University arrests are worse than they seem. They're arresting protesting students for trespassing. It goes without saying students cannot meaningfully "trespass" in the common areas of a university they attend. So Columbia University has suspended all student protestors from their institution, in the process revoking their access to housing, their belonging, and most crucially damaging their academic futures. We are witnessing full scale silencing and removal of anyone of conscience from the next generation of academia.

If you're not familiar with the Accountability Archive I highly recommend checking it out. It's a website dedicated to keeping record of journalists, politicians, and public figures who endorse/encourage the ethnic cleansing of Gaza/Palestinians.

The goal of this website is to archive the data to be used in a number of ways. It will be available to future historians and researchers to understand how this type of mass killing can take place through research. It will also potentially be a resource for lawyers looking for supporting evidence in trying defamation and war crime cases.

I urge you to visit their website and submit evidence you've gathered. I don't think people who support an apartheid state/genocide should get to walk around without being held accountable.

Lisa's speech to Micheal about how he wants to be the one who likes cool things but doesn't want his girlfriend to like cool things really stuck with me bc ive met a lot of guys like that. He can be dark and emotionally complex but not his girlfriend. His girlfriend needs to be nurturing and a simple light.

Which in contrast, the creature will forever be more dark and complex than Micheal for being a literal revived corpse from 150 years ago. And Lisa's interests, intense personality, and emotional complexity isn't at war with his own.

just remembered that in movies like lisa frankenstein, the monsters almost never get to stay with their human. the human almost always winds up with someone else / has to kill their monster lover or give them up and i’m so glad that lisa frankenstein didn’t do that

So I know Lisa Frankenstein is about more than the romance, there’s so much to be said about Lisa’s relationships with those around her and how she was treated and how that parallels how wider society treats women, young women in particular. But the fact that the Creature loved her completely, to the point of searching for her when he “came back to life”, killing those who harmed her, using the body parts of those same people to please her, and always listening to her even though he couldn’t speak (even when it hurt him) just hits me in all the right places. The people who were supposed to love and cherish her didn’t (Taffy loved her of course) yet he did. Idk guys, seeing a girl being loved for all that she is after almost everyone else has rejected her for no reason other than she’s different just means so much to me
