Also wanted to pop in and say hi and say im doing a little better with art. kinda took art fight month more so to try and figure myself out rather than focus on attacks. i guess focusing on yourself is important, esp when needed so i don't rlly feel BAD abt missing out on art fight ; plus i had comms i needed to focus on more, still do but ive been struggling with the why in my art a lot, i feel like . I don't usually use this blog to ramble like this but i just wanna post to post and if no eyes see this, whatever :p I feel a little lost rn , and i think its why posting in general has been very difficult for me, but i appreciate all you guys that have stuck around (I SWEAR THIS ISNT A GOODBYE) meds have also been kicking my ass and making me sleep A LOT so my schedule is just rlly fucked ill pull through

This is Lithium ! he's also apart of my story - The Fraction He's a Maned Wolf, sort of like a gate keeper ! usually he's wearing keys around his neck that can lead to diff dimensions ; he keeps things organized and acts like Anubis in the sense of he helps people transfer to the afterlife. He's very cynical and cooky, i love him yes he's inspired by fleetway sonic. yes i made him in middle school <3 more of him under the cut

hi another trans artist that really wants to make comics ; your post about how to plunge into comics may have been my final wake up call to actually work on my original characters after being in such a rut for so long. your work in general has been super inspiring and i adore your shapes and artistic process. Never stop creating :)

putting the joking tone aside, in all seriousness: Messages like these are always such a touching thing to find in my inbox :,) That is the goal yk? I think a lot of the online art space is heavy with tips and advice and do this, not that. lacking in encouragement though! I'd look for resources and there are certainly a lot of good ones out there, but also so many that make it out so daunting? i think that's counterproductive. so i make my "little" posts with that in mind, in hopes of balancing it out a little, or at the very least trying not to play into it. i'm just a hobbyist myself and when i stopped thinking of skill development like curriculum to "make it in the industry" (which i didn't even know if i wanted to) the creative aspect got so much easier. self-indulgence is self-mercy sometimes. exploratory work is great and fun and productive! people joke about it all the time but developing original characters is a lot like playing dollhouse. you can make stuff without committing to it if u have a better idea later, you can go for an idea you're unsure about for the sake of finding out if you like it or not!! beloved trial and error!

being stuck in a rut sucks, i am too tbh regarding specific ocs. not knowing exactly what i want to do with them, gotta start somewhere to get somewhere. so i'm halfway (or 1/3rd or i don't even know tbh) through making an rpgmaker game about it, extremely unsure about the story and under-developed world building depicted within. despite that, i want to see it through without changing too much. it's a prototype! it'll help me realize what's worth keeping and what to discard about the concept once i've had a chance to see every idea in a whole context. that's what i'm hoping for at least ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so like, i do in fact follow own advice when i say shit like this lol. whenever i put forth my thoughts and opinions on creative processes i often feel a little bit like i'm speaking out of turn. i'm far from an authority on these matters, i'm self taught and employ a hedonistic approach to art. do i have a right to be influencing people like this? all those who have been a bad influence on my artistic growth throughout the years gave themselves that right, so i let myself speak. it's so incredible to know that it's not only harmless but actually helping people take that plunge. like, what the fuck? my words have power?? oversimplification, but i see this ask in my inbox and think: wow!!! you're gonna go make epic art about your ocs because i told you so??? that's awesome! and then i check my activity and see you've mentioned me in a post and WAIT WTF YOU ALREADY DREW SOMETHING??? AND IT'S EPIC???

seriously! i'm so overjoyed! :D :D :D!!! it's an honor, and i don't say that lightly!!!

fret not, i am steadfast to my craft. me and art sitting in a tree til death do us part etc. ! i'd also like to return that sentiment to sender, and tenfold! please keep at it!!!
