I love that in Catching fire Katniss comes to the conclusion the other tributes are trying to keep Peeta alive because they must see how amazingly perfectly wonderful he is. When in actuality that’s just her having a crush and everyone else recognizing that if Peeta gets hurt Katniss will go fully feral and unhinged and probably try to kill everyone and then herself.

Rewatched Avatar and one detail I really love is that the kids ALWAYS know when they've stepped in hot shit and ALWAYS call their parents for help, and the parents immediately come in and save the recriminations for later.

Like the kids get into realistic trouble and you have none of the usual "we can't trust the adults with this" bullshit, yet it still leads to satisfying action with both kids and parents.

Annabeth classically breaking up with Percy because they changed, but he acting terribly about it crying over himself constantly. Percy acting like he's stupid and everybody seeing him as dumb. Everyone thirsting over him but of course he doesn't notice. He going through a fuckboy phase. Characters using terms like percabeth and shipping.

Jason's coming out instead of being an emotional, introspective or even just cute moment was literally like:

"I'm gay Percy, I fuck men".

I'll keep reading because I'm curious but guys, it's 2022. Can we collectively move one from this cringy write style?

No listen, casting Lin Manuel Miranda as Hermes is actually a genius move because Hermes is one of those characters that at the beginning makes you think "I dunno, I think I like this guy" but some time later it has swifted to "I don't know why I still like him but by GOD do I want to punch him in the face". And honestly, the "I like you" to "Punching On Sight" pipeline is the peak Alexander Hamilton experience

See now I think it would be really funny if IN CANON Hermes was Lin Manuel Miranda. Like in the show he is still the exact same as he is IRL. Hermes wrote Hamilton. He got bored of listening to Apollo prattling on about Broadway so he went out in disguise as a mortal and Did That.

That’s the only way I will accept him as Hermes, is if THAT is the reason.
