Business Feasibility Class Reflection
When I first entered this business feasibility course, my original goal was to gain clarity and confidence around whether my business idea, Canvas of Culture, could truly become a sustainable and impactful venture. I knew I had a vision rooted in community and cultural empowerment, but I wasn’t sure how to test that vision realistically or translate it into a viable business model. Through this course, that goal was absolutely met. Each module challenged me to dig deeper into the “why” behind my business, while also giving me tangible tools to evaluate the “how.”
What I learned most from this course is that passion must be paired with process. I learned how to assess competitors, identify market gaps, and examine customer needs with more intention and strategy. The competitive analysis and SWOT work were especially eye-opening because they allowed me to see where Canvas of Culture already shines and where growth is needed. It pushed me to think critically about customer experience, operations, and how to remain both creative and sustainable.
Personally and professionally, I will carry this knowledge with me as I continue to refine and launch Canvas of Culture. The research and feasibility methods, customer validation techniques, and focus on flexibility in the MVP stage are lessons I’ll return to again and again. This course not only gave me structure; it gave me the confidence to move forward knowing I’m building something meaningful, with both heart and strategy guiding the way.

Product Design and Development Reflection
At the beginning of this course, my original goal was clear: I wanted to understand how to better design my business, Canvas of Culture, in a way that genuinely resonates with my target audience. I’ve always known the heart of my business is rooted in community and cultural connection, but I needed a deeper understanding of how to translate that intention into tangible design strategies and impactful implementation.
Throughout this course, I was introduced to tools and frameworks that allowed me to think beyond my initial concepts. By stepping into the mindset of my audience, truly understanding their needs, desires, and challenges, I was able to reimagine how Canvas of Culture could show up for them in more meaningful ways. The coursework didn’t just meet my goal; it opened up new perspectives I hadn’t previously considered, especially around user-centered design and iterative development.
One of the most powerful lessons I learned was the importance of removing myself, my assumptions, and my preferences from the equation. Designing a product or service isn’t about what I think is best, but rather about what actually serves the people I’m trying to reach. That shift in perspective has been transformative for me both as a student and as an entrepreneur.
As a result of this shift, I updated my SmartStart Canvas this month by adding another marketing channel aimed specifically at a previously overlooked segment of my audience. After revisiting my original vision, I realized there was a golden opportunity to engage Black creatives graduating from SCAD right here in my own city. These emerging artists and designers are craving community, guidance, and post-grad support, which Canvas of Culture is uniquely positioned to offer.
Looking forward, I plan to apply what I’ve learned both personally and professionally by always designing with empathy and intention. Whether it's refining marketing efforts or shaping new offerings, I’ll continue centering the voices and experiences of my audience in every decision I make for Canvas of Culture.

Mastery PDL Timeline Update
When I first enrolled in the Creativity and Innovation course, my primary goal was to develop the ability to consistently generate and implement creative ideas that address real-world problems in a practical and innovative way. I knew that creativity is a vital skill in today’s fast-paced world, especially when it comes to problem-solving in both personal and professional settings. I wanted to hone my ability to think outside the box and move beyond traditional methods of addressing challenges. By the end of this course, I am happy to say that I have not only met this goal but also gained invaluable tools and insights that will help me in my future endeavors.
Throughout the course, I learned a variety of techniques and strategies that have significantly shifted my approach to problem-solving. I was introduced to frameworks like design thinking, brainstorming, and the lean startup, which helped me understand how to refine and develop ideas systematically. I found the emphasis on collaborative creativity particularly useful, as it became clear that sharing ideas with others in a safe and open environment can lead to breakthrough innovations. The course also taught me how to better identify and define problems, ensuring that I am addressing the root causes rather than just the symptoms. This deeper understanding of the creative process allowed me to see challenges from new perspectives and inspired me to approach them with a more solution-oriented mindset.
Applying the concepts from this course will be incredibly valuable in both my personal and professional life. Personally, I now feel more confident in my ability to tap into my creativity and apply it to everyday situations, whether it’s solving a problem at home or coming up with new ideas for personal projects. Professionally, I can apply the creative problem-solving methods learned in this course to enhance team collaboration, drive innovation in my workplace, and contribute to the development of new products or services. I will also be more intentional about fostering a creative environment, knowing how important it is to support and encourage others in their creative processes. Overall, this course has equipped me with the tools and mindset to become a more innovative thinker and problem solver, and I am excited to apply these skills in my future career and personal life.
