Cryptocentrus cinctus, better known as the yellow prawn goby or yellow watchman goby is a species of bottom dwelling goby fish native to the Western Pacific where it can be found at depths of 3.3 to 82ft (1 to 25m) along the bottoms of coastal bays and lagoons. These omnivorous fish primarily feed upon small invertebrates, carrion, detritus, and algae. They are notable for there keen eye sight and symbiotic relationship with certain species of pistol shrimp in the Alpheidae family, in particular the tiger pistol shrimp. In short the pistol shrimp constructs an elaborate burrow in which the pair reside, in exchange the goby helps to maintain the burrow, protect the nearly blind shrimp from predators, and brings the shrimp food. Reaching around 3.9 inches (10 cms) in length, the yellow watchman goby sports an elongated body, large fins, and a big head which wears an amusing perpetual frown. These fish vary greatly in coloration, ranging from brilliant yellow to gray and even brown forms or combinations of each coloring. This solid coloration provides a neutral backdrop that beautifully accentuates the spotted, jewel-like pattern that decorate its head and fins. Yellow watchman gobies are territorial and aggressive towards others of its own kind unless they form a mated pair. Said mated pair will share a burrow with one or more of there bonded shrimp counterparts, and on occasion a small species of porcelain crab Enosteoides lobatus. Under ideal conditions a yellow prawn goby may live up to 10 years.

I feel the most me
When I’m In between the trees
With your hand in mine
When soft wind makes its way
Through whispering pines that moan
And my lips hold back words
That mean the most
Songbirds play the soundtrack
Of how our love grows
And there is no other sound but that of
Tall grass blowing in the breeze
Soft seedlings are carried past
As we watch on and say
“how lovely and beautiful”
And my mind reflects an image of you
My lips graze your cheek
In an attempt to express
That which I cannot say
A million times over
I wonder if we could escape
To stay in this place, forever
Make new lives for ourselves
Apart from that which deems our love false
In this place there is the absence
Of watchful eyes and judgement
In this space we are liberated
By the moss between our toes
Crickets and toads
Will lull us to sleep
And my body will
Curve to match your shape
We will lead a peaceful existence
In the absence of those
who have something and nothing to say
How could a love like this be wrong,
When the sun grazes your cheek
As my lips have done a million times
And my heart feels that way?
When I am yours forever
And I am stuck to you
As roots are to the soil?
Flee to this life with me, please
So we can become one with the grass
That exists beneath our feet.

BREAKING NEWS:
NOAA proposes national marine sanctuary in Papahānaumokuākea
Tumblr media
Today, NOAA has released a draft proposal to designate a national marine sanctuary in the marine portions of Papahānaumokuākea. Home to the endangered Hawaiian monk seal, threatened green turtles and many species found nowhere else on earth, the complex and highly productive marine ecosystems of Papahānaumokuākea are significant contributors to the biological diversity of the ocean.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Papahānaumokuākea is of great importance to Native Hawaiians, and Hawaiian culture is a foundational element in its management. It is also home to a variety of post-Western-contact historic resources, such as 19th-century commercial whaling shipwrecks and artifacts and those associated with World War II’s Battle of Midway.

The public is invited to comment on the sanctuary draft proposal through May 7, 2024.

it really isnt fair to Endless Ocean Blue World to never grace the light of day again. Endless Ocean could do so much on these consoles. I miss them. Where else would I have a video game about being a diver where the plot included dracula vampires, sort-of-atlantis, forgotten amazonian submerged jungle ruins, aliens, and dragons
