      ‘ it’s nothing, ’ Haruka repeats, but theres no weight in her words - she doesn’t like Michiru worrying over her, but she likes lying to her even less. it’s only when the other presses the wet cloth to her skin that Haruka allows herself to groan. oh, it’s far more painful than shed let on, but she’s still so NEW to all of this. she groans again, but finally sits up & leans into the other. she’s new to this, new to them, but it still feels right & every time she allows herself to TRUST herself, it’s like she’s rewarded with this uncommon gentleness.

      ‘ daimon, ’ she says finally. ‘ it attacked a group of kids. I fought it off, but it got me before it died or– whatever, ’ she sighs softly. ‘ I guess I don’t have your grace for this, ’ Haruka chuckles softly. ‘ but I’m fine - I’m here. like I promised, I came back to you, didn’t I? ’

michiru knew better , she knew that haruka would downplay what happened . she knew the other tried to impress her with how quick she picked things up , and michiru was proud but she was also worried because she didn't want her to get seriously hurt because of it . " mm . " she knew that was a lie . she would never call her out on it , no . michiru knew , she could read haruka better than she thought and the girl would do nothing but try and help the other feel better .

when she heard haruka speak of what happened , she tried to keep her expression soft and the worry hidden . the daimons were getting bolder and she thought that they were giving up for a time . " you have a grace all your own , my love . sometimes i believe even more than i do . it's as if you were born for this . " her voice soft and her smile genuine , she nodded . " you did , and you will always come back to me as i will to you . " it was their destiny , after all .

      they’d been through a lot together in the short time it had been more of an us than her on her own. she wouldn’t trade it for the world; there was something about the other that made her SLOW DOWN & stop running from all the things that she had wanted to leave behind. SHE HAD DIED & come back, she’s not sure she really knows the mechanics of it, & she’s even less sure she wants to, but at the same time she’s grateful that they’re still there together because the alternative is something she can’t even begin to consider. how she’d gotten through nearly two decades of life without the other, she doesn’t know. she doesn’t want to, either. 

      ‘ always so serious,’ the blonde murmurs, leaning down to press her lips to her forehead. it’s another thing she wouldn’t trade for the world - the calm serenity the other keeps despite the turbulent depths she knows she possesses. ‘ just thinking about us, and how I’m lucky to have you. that’s all. and I know you complete me. I’m just… not used to it. not yet. ’

it was a lot to take in , she understood . when she was brought in , she was confused at first as well , but it also explained so much for her that she had just been waiting for it to happen . there were times when she wished that she could be more laid back like haruka was , but that just wasn't in her nature .

a small pursing of her lips came at haruka's words and she smiled as a small laugh came . " yes , but only when i worry about you . " losing her had been the single worst day of michiru's life and it felt as if she died herself , but worse . it felt like something was missing . like a part of her soul was missing and it was almost worse than death itself . " i know you aren't , things will come back to you in time . setsuna assured me all will be returned to you , it's just hard not knowing when . i'm used to seeing things that are coming , but not with you this time . it's almost ... refreshing . " she smiled up at her , stoic hardness of her features softening instantly .

like before when she was the one to find haruka when the whole thing started, she knew it was only a matter of time before she was brought back to her. this time had been a little different -- a little harder to wrap her head around as she saw haruka die -- she saw that part of her die as well. like a part of her was ripped violently away and the hole was left bare and raw. even now, the wound mended with the fact that haruka was right there ( but at what COST? ), that was the biggest question on her mind lately, but she was never one to look a gift in the mouth. so for the time being everything was right, everything felt...right, minus haruka not remembering her.

it still took a lot for michiru to believe what she had seen, believe what she had right in front of her because she felt like she didn't deserve it because it should have been her that died, not haruka. when she was pulled in and she felt the others lips on hers, it drew her out of her own mind as it usually did. lips fell on the blondes and she smiled leaning in to her fully, not caring that they were in front of the others. when she heard the words, she pulled away just slightly and her hand fell to rest against her chest. "i complete your soul as you do mine. in time you'll remember that, i'm sure of. but for now, what's going through that mind of yours?" michiru reached up and tapped her finger against her girlfriend's forehead.

a soft sound sighed from her as she looked at her partner. after all these years, michiru knew when haruka was lying to her, but not only that -- she could see the wound herself and she knew it was more than just nothing. “dear heart, when will you learn that you can’t keep things like that from me like you can the others?” her voice was soft, but firm as she reached out with the damp washcloth to clean the blood off her skin. 

“what happened?”

she wanted to know what kind of trouble led to this that she couldn’t have called her for help. it was a sinking feeling to think haruka felt the need to go at it alone, and she michiru tried to keep it from her features just what was going through her mind, but not only that - she could feel when haruka got injured. she always had, and that was just insult to, well, injury.

Michiru doesn't take stock in labeling her sexuality , she doesn't feel the need to have to explain it to anyone . Haruka is her soulmate , it wouldn't matter what gender her body was , her feelings wouldn't change . She was single before she met Haruka , and should something happen she would be single after ( if it didn't kill her as well ).
