Being Arab is more complicated than “you were raised in the west so you have no ties to your heritage and you’re entirely unaffected by anything that’s going on in your home country” like genuinely get serious
#most of my family are in palestine but i also have a few family members in jordan#i’ve only been to jordan like 3 times but never to palestine and i’ve only conversed with my family in palestine on the phone#so when the iof started bombing northern gaza and i heard that two of my uncles died along with their wives and children and friends#and i told that to my friend and how i was worried about what will happen to the rest of my family#he was like ‘ well#you’ve never been there so you have no attachment to your family anyways it shouldn’t really be bothering you’#and i was like what??? and i just i didn’t really know to say#and that just me made me scared about mentioning anything about my family
