Happy 44th Birthday Scottish actor, Robin Laing, born on February 16th 1976 in Dundee.
Robin Laing began his acting journey over thirty years ago in Poorboy’s spiritual home of Arbroath when he joined the Angus Children’s Theatre. Over time he moved down the coast to Carnoustie, then Dundee and finally Fife, all the while learning his trade. After a summer as a waiter in Kenmore, a chance meeting in the Dundee Rep bar led to his first theatre role as Renton in Trainspotting.
Since then he has been employed both nationally and internationally in theatre, television, film and radio. In that time he has worked with some of his heroes, none of whom have disappointed, and has played some wonderful characters.
Arguably his most famous role to date is playing Babe Heffron In the mini series Band of Brothers, although us Scots would argue playing D.I Donald in River City for five year tops that! Other shows Laing has featured in include, Taggart twice, The Coroner, Shetland and Victim. Robin is due to appear in the film Mind-set, described as “A dark comedy feature film.
