Diving in love to weirdness and awkwardness. I love how things are quite unpredictable and random. I see that I cannot completely reject chaos and order.
I just love when weird things happen. What providence.

Hannah: The Remembered Woman
(Spontaneous thoughts in message preparation)
Reflections from 1 Samuel 1-2
What makes a changemaker? In looking in the life of Hannah.
Hannah is one of the two wives of a godly man named Elkanah. Hannah is burdened because she was barren. Despite this, her husband love her significantly. But her rival, Peneniah, irritates and taunts her of not providing a son for Elkanah. A taunt that in ancient times means failure.
This breaks Hannah’s heart. Her brokenness led her to the Lord, she prayed, “Lord, look upon your servant.” In God’s providence, the Lord was actually rooting for a great prophet to appoint, for the house of Eli is wicked, specifically his sons.
The Lord remembered her. With her vow to give the son to the Lord, for opening her womb. He gave her first son, Samuel, to the Lord. What a heart for the Lord.
This is what makes Hannah a changemaker:
* She is not so extraordinary.
* She has her own brokenness.
* She came to the Lord.
We don’t need much to be used by God. God wants to use us really. All our unique sets of struggles, stories, and brokenness is used by God for us to be His changemakers in this world.
May God as to Hannah, look to us and remember us with favor. Amen.

Favor of God comes from fear of God. -David Platt
Going right turn to San Juan City from SM Sta. Mesa, this quote was said by Platt. My precision though.
Who of all do not want favor? Much more from God? Here I was instructed that every and almost all characters in the Bible, who experiences God’s favor are people who feared Him. I immediately ask if I fear God. If public opinion scares me? Or what my friends would think about me?
What it boils down is, this firmness of God’s word to those who fear Him. He who fears God fears Him for He knows him. Not just because he gives favor. But that there is no true and legitimate favor from God, if there is no visible and authentic fear of Him.

*talks a lot
I do. With myself.
Meeting with my acquaintances, I learned to see which personalities are beneficial and which is not. There are moments when talking a lot helps, and also when all you need to do is shut up.
This really came from a meme, but if someone talks a lot. It is really probably for they are comfy with you. My curiosity only is, can I bear the comfort of *listens a lot? Probably that will be great!

It is never God’s will for us to be alone.
Sometimes I woke up feeling indifferent to God’s call for my life. So learning about confession, and the need to remind myself that I am always undeserving and almost moment by moment conscious or unconsciously sinning, I came before God. I told Him, that if ever I have done his precepts, its Him in me, not me on myself.
But this thought came with the encouragement of me realizing that I am not alone in obeying God in my life. I have friends and brothers in Christ that goes with me. Thus, even God calls me in prayer to Him, He calls us to be together with the Church in obeying Him. In every moment, I am not alone indeed.

Time gives the illusion of control.
I decided to not use my watch anymore. So I can lose track of time, probably so I can focus. I imagined the people of past sticking their head on to their work in sunrise, and finishing in sunsets.
I looked at my watch and I know what time it is, I have a sense of control, I have this much time for this and that. But, am I really that in control?
Am I in control of it? Or just conscious of it? You can also try losing track of time. One thing I noticed that day, life passes unhindered.

Beware of your excess.
I had this thought when I realized how much freedom I have with my excess. With much freedom, comes responsibility.
My excess could be a free time. An extra money. A margin. I read a book and caught that we can help people when we have leverage. So why should I be careful?
Because my excess can also be an opportunity for evil, if not used for good. If not used for others, our excess can be a leeway for pride and selfishness. Not necessarily bad though, but take care. Okay?

The Way of the Lord
Tumblr media
John the Baptist is the forerunner of Jesus. And more with that, he prepared the Way of the the Lord.
What is this way? The Way of Repentance.
John’s central message is: “Repent for the kingdom of heaven is near!” Even Jesus preaches it, and his disciples too.
So what is again the Way of the Lord?
The way of the Lord then, is recognizing the finished work of Jesus Christ, believing in Him as Lord and Savior of your life. And living in repentance with the hope that He is with us, through the Holy Spirit, weaving our lives for His glory.

Let faith dictate action
zzz If my mornings are led by emotion, it would not have been set to action. I will probably sleep again. Slumber until I feel well. However, it must not be. Emotion clouds our inability for action, because emotion is a byproduct of action. When you wake up, you naturally feel weak, for you have no energy yet. After you’ve eaten, worked out, or have taken a bath. After a certain action, you’ll feel a certain emotion as well. It is the waves to the action we do. So in the mornings of slumber and weakness, take the first act. Whether be taking a shower, a toothbrush or a bath. Eat, not only physical but spiritual food, for many is need to be accomplished today. As the train for Christ will not run on feelings, but on faith. May faith be the motivation of my actions not emotions. May faith dictate the works we do, not my feelings.

Treading the Unknown
… How hard and despicable it is to tread the unknown. You don’t feel your steps. Everything is new and uncharted. You’re going through rough times, feeling overwhelmed, not certain whether you’ve chosen a wise decision or this next step shall be your probable doom. You gaze the horizon. Charting procedures, this and that. Only to realize how little your steps. How blur your sight is. You see others walking as well, sojourn-eying with you. Threading their lives, their thoughts and fears unknown to you. You see their eyes shimmering, but hands shivering. Up ahead, a feast had gone, you’re invited, even close to the right. But still, you feel unsure. Being torn between high ways. Not knowing whether to take the right, to take the left. But I hope you choose where you see the light up ahead. May the face of God shine upon you as you tread this archipelago. …
