A chronic illness phenomenon
I think there’s this weird phenomenon in life, specifically in the chronic illness community. It’s a place some of us get stuck in - the in between. A place where you’re too sick to function in the “able world” but at the same time you seem to healthy for the chronic illness world. You almost faint but you don’t. You’re always in pain but it’s relatively tolerable. You’re not bad enough to qualify for surgery even though you’d benefit. You forget everything but you don’t lose time. Your heart rate is too high to be normal but not high enough to be critical. Your BP is low but not THAT low. You try to find answers but seem relatively okay to doctors so they don’t want to run more tests. You’re stuck in a place where you almost wish you were sicker so you could get helpful treatment.

some ADHD things (?)
(can also be autism or borderline things)
having a single word stuck in your head
either having a new intense obsession every week or obsessing over something for the next 1-2 years
getting really pissed when someone tells you about plans that involve you the day right before the event instead of at least four days prior
concentrating? what is that?
not being able to listen to someone because your brain is focusing on that one noise in the background
daydreaming tm
feeling so hurt by criticism you either get send into self-hate-zone or let’s-not-talk-to-that-bad-person-ever-again-zone
“I don’t know”
doing 5 things at the same time because how else are you supposed to do anything ever?
talking too loudly without noticing
not being able to tell if you’re sad or just bored
when that one person you’re weirdly attached to and whose approval you’re dependant on makes a mean joke or acts a bit cold towards you you want to fucking die
people telling you to calm down tm
the mood swings
wait.. your brain is supposed to remember stuff??
going through an identity crisis and wanting to change your whole personality every few weeks
not knowing who you are and what you’re like for the majority of your life
either listening to the same song for 5 hours straight or listening to the first minute of every song that comes on during shuffle
fidgetting with pens, playing with your hair or bouncing your legs during school or when you’re trying to do homework

Anyone who wants to be an ally to the disabled and the chronically ill must support the technologies which make their lives better. You cannot support someone with chronic pain while also suggesting that all pain relievers are the work of the devil. You cannot support someone with diabetes while promoting politics that end the availability of insulin.  You cannot claim solidarity with a group of people, while at the same time expressing politics that would literally kill them.

Repeat after me:
Joe Biden is a good candidate with some negative points. But he’d be infinitely better than Trump.
Bernie Sanders is a good candidate with some negative points. But he’d be infinitely better than Trump.
Beto O’Rourke is a good candidate with some negative points. But he’d be infinitely better than Trump.
Cory Booker is a good candidate with some negative points. But he’d be infinitely better than Trump.
Pete Buttigieg is a good candidate with some negative points. But he’d be infinitely better than Trump.
Julian Castro is a good candidate with some negative points. But he’d be infinitely better than Trump.
Jay Inslee is a good candidate with some negative points. But he’d be infinitely better than Trump.
John Hickenlooper is a good candidate with some negative points. But he’d be infinitely better than Trump.
Elizabeth Warren is a good candidate with some negative points. But she’d be infinitely better than Trump.
Kamala Harris is a good candidate with some negative points. But she’d be infinitely better than Trump.
Any other Democrat running is a good candidate with some negative points. But they’d be infinitely better than Trump.
Any other Democrat not yet running is a good candidate with some negative points. But they’d be infinitely better than Trump.
There is no perfect politician no matter how much you personally like them and just because they appeal to you more than another candidate does at the moment doesn’t mean that is enough for them to win the Presidency.
The primary process is long. Democratic voters really need to stop aligning with blind loyalty to one person this early and actually keep a halfway open mind to let other candidates make their case.
“They did a thing I don’t like once so I refuse to ever vote for them ever,” is the opposite of helpful.

Does anybody else think “man, I’d do so many things if I felt better” but once you feel better you don’t do anything cuz you just want to chill and enjoy not feeling bad?

im so mad bc “atlas shrugged” is such a raw fucking title. thats an EXCELLENT name for a book. a man holding the weight of the entire world on his shoulders is so moved by his disdain for the current state of things that he exerts the force to shrug. indifference to the nth degree. that’s fucking metal. then you read it and it’s just about hating poor people.
