Memories of Australia from Andrew Hamilton on Vimeo.
Having moved from Australia to Sweden more than 15 years ago, I’m often struck with the crystal clear memory of a sound, smell, or particularly calm experience as a kid growing up in the land down under. This is a little tribute and collection of a few of those moments and sounds (WEAR HEADPHONES!) that leave me feeling positively nostalgic about a wonderful past, of great adventures, and of the ones we've lost. All nature you see here – vegetation, rocks, cliffs, etc – I’ve built from my own photogrammetry scans captured on a recent visit to Australia. I kept within typical game budgets for content and technical features, running in real-time on Unreal Engine. I hope you get a little taste of these memories and experiences that bring me joy. Enjoy!

Gameplay Animation Showreel - Bleeding Edge (2020) | Warwick Mellow from Warwick Mellow on Vimeo.
It has been a huge privilege overseeing the animation on Bleeding Edge and being responsible for animating the complete set of animations for 7 player characters! This ‘Gameplay Animation Showreel’ showcases a selection of the animations I created for Daemon, Níðhöggr, Buttercup, Miko, Cass, Gizmo and El Bastardo. All animations have been captured from Unreal Engine and appear as they do in-game. 100% keyframe – enjoy!
A huge shout-out to David Garcia (davidgarciadiaz.squarespace.com/) who cut the music for this reel from his, and Jamie Molloy’s (jamiemolloysound.com/original) tracks for Bleeding Edge.
The wonderful FX have been left in to create context for the attacks and abilities - created by Tobias Noller (artstation.com/tobiastobasco).
Character Models: Bao Vu (artstation.com/baovu).
Rigging: Jacob Feeley (artstation.com/jfeez).
All this would not have been possible without my collaboration with Rahni Tucker, Creative Director and Combat Designer Extraordinaire.

Augmented (hyper)Reality: Domestic Robocop from Keiichi Matsuda on Vimeo.
The latter half of the 20th century saw the built environment merged with media space, and architecture taking on new roles related to branding, image and consumerism. Augmented reality may recontextualise the functions of consumerism and architecture, and change in the way in which we operate within it.
A film produced for my final year Masters in Architecture, part of a larger project about the social and architectural consequences of new media and augmented reality.

Our First Environment Test in Unreal from Embark Studios on Vimeo.
Our goal with this terrain test was to see how far we could push visual fidelity on a large scale (256 square kilometers), with a completely dynamic weather & lighting system, and without having to be a huge team. Everything in this clip was created by three people over three weeks, using real-world scanned data, procedurally placed objects, and some great tools.

Director Statement. Epoch is a visual representation of our connection to earth and it's vulnerable glory. Our time here is esoteric, limited and intangible.
The fragility which exists in all aspects of life is one thing that is certain. We are brittle, and so is Mother Earth.

Wired from Zeyu Ren on Vimeo.
"Wired" is a short animated film made inside of Virtual Reality. It is one of the first multi-scene narrative animations made in VR.
It tells the story of a world without wireless technology, where every electronic device has to be interconnected with cables. One boy is curious about what's out there above the jungle of wires, so he finds a way to venture up there, where a huge shadow comes over him…
Thanks to Quill by Facebook, I can animate as if I was in this city connected by wires. From the shift of shadows to the synchronization of layers, This project pushes the boundary of what's possible in Quill.
I am excited about the future of VR animation. With the introduction of Oculus Quest in the spring, animators now can truly teleport the viewers to their most wild dream worlds.
Thank you for watching my film!

Giant Bear Teaser June 2018 from e→d films on Vimeo.
A first look at the Giant Bear. Centered on a confrontation between the last monster bear and an Inuit hunter, Giant Bear is a chilling short that brings an ancient story out of the North. In Giant Bear, we follow a hunter in the depths of starvation. The snow is thick, his dogs are mysteriously dying and food is nowhere to be found. A quest for answers leads him straight to a nanurluk, an iceberg-sized polar bear, setting up a “kill or be killed” battle that pits one man’s wits against a fearsome foe. Directed by: Neil Christopher and Daniel Gies, Animation Director: Eric Max Kaplin, Co-produced by: Taqqut Productions and e.d. films. EXISDANCE - Real time tracking & Projection mapping from Hayato Ando on Vimeo.
Born from collaboration between Panasonic and the creative studio P.I.C.S., “EXISDANCE” represents a new step in real-time projection mapping. Japanese Director Hayato Ando teamed up with the Japanese Dancer Kikky (Missy Elliot, World order) and French Engineer Paul Lacroix (OMOTE, Face Hacking). He wanted to express the creation of something originating from the movements of the dance.“EXISDANCE” is a stunning performance revealing the future of live stage projection mapping.

5:48 - The Reality of Time from Thomas Gugel on Vimeo.
This is my graduation movie at the University of Applied Sciences Mainz, Germany and my interpretation of the Reality of Time based on the theories of French philosopher Henri Bergson and his meaning of "la durée", the experienced time. A pure perception which isn't already structured by our consciousness and available for our behaviors (Intuition). This "Reality of Time" lies mainly behind what's shown obviously - in his symbolic representation. What you see isn't what it supposed to shown.
Concept, Animation, Compositing: Thomas Gugel Sounddesign: Bernhard Dulle (sounds-and-music.de) 2D-Support: Bastian J. Schiffer (prdx.de) Mentoring: Prof. Tjark Ihmels

flow/er from Lukas Vojir on Vimeo.
Personal collaboration.
In nature, it is often the simplest rules that lead to forming the most complex, beautiful forms. flow/er is a visual poem that observes this through a design lens, combining our fascination with organic, raw aesthetic with foreign geometric forms. We observe natural laws take shape in a strange dance of meticulous choreography clashing with violent forces of nature.
