I was planning for it to be a more elaborate drawing but I got lazy :/ I drew this scene from memory too so idk if I forgot any details (like Kakashi facing the window when he would NEVER show his back to random strangers and whether they’re on a train or a subway. I drew it without a reference so I think I kinda made a weird fusion of the two). I just found the image of a teen in a soldier fit, with a baby, and a t-shirt wrapped over his face taking the train to be insanely funny

the dichotomy between an attack dog vs a guard dog is like. an attack dog is sent out to carry out violence. it's starved and abused to ensure aggression. it has no other purpose outside of Attacking at the whim of its master. it's constantly on guard because a threat can come from any direction at any time. it's the dog chained up in a basement that's only set loose when there's something to kill.

but a guard dog is protecting instead of attacking. instead of being sent out to fight, it comes home to defend the house. it may be constantly on watch for an external threat, but it is content to lay with the sheep until a wolf comes to the door. the guard dog has a warm place to sleep, and is well fed and treated like a member of the household. it's free to leave at any time but it stays to protect the house anyway. do u get it. do u understand.

Shout-out to Yamato for being the only adult man in Naruto’s life to talk him out of being creepy. Like Jiraiya encourages it, Iruka and Ebisu are reluctantly interested in that sexy jutsu nonsense, Kakashi astral projects out of his body every time sexual content comes up, but Yamato straight up goes, “The penalty for not respecting women is death.” And I love that about him.

@sweetkakashihatake47 it isn't directly canon, but there's nothing in canon contradicting Kakashi's legal signature being the henohenomoheji face, and in fact, he does use it as 'his symbol' on some occasions, so there's some basis for the idea that it is his legal signature

he IS definitely, canonically, obviously literate. his favorite thing is reading.

the joke in my tags about him possibly being illiterate was that future historians might theorize that he couldn't read. Like if you heard that, idk, fuckin' george washington or someone only ever attended school for literally 6 months and his legal signature was just a little caricature drawing of his face.... you might make a few jokes. maybe a fringe theory gets started. maybe some people genuinely believe it. maybe there's an entire academic conference debating the possibility
