He lowered his lightsaber, keeping a hold of it on the reverse grip so that it was now pointing back to him, and thus far from her. Her giving him her name was a good start, he could work with that. “Thevara.” He says the name out loud to get a feel for it, strange name, but he wouldn’t say that out loud. “You’re right on that. It’s not very Jedi-like.” Kota had told him that a few times, he’d tried to get him to go by Galen but Starkiller refused to use the other name... Only Juno could, and even then, it was a rare thing. 

So she was like him. Like Galen Marek and the clone after him. Only rather in the reverse order, a Jedi turned Sith? The clone filed that away for later, he could always ask Kota or PROXY. “I... I was a Sith, then I was a Jedi. Doesn’t matter much now, but that’s my journey.” He’d been both, now he was neither, for ease of others he called himself a Jedi but even his Knighting had been rushed, in the middle of battle by Kota. Galen hadn’t minded, and neither had Starkiller. His Master had taught him to be patient, to listen and to mediate when the time called for it, that didn’t come easy to neither Galen or Starkiller but the Clone made an attempt by turning off his lightsaber, as a sign of peace.

“I’m not here to fight you, unless there is no other way. I came to investigate... Thevara, will you give me a reason to fight? Or will you cooperate?”

And here I am.” No point in revealing Kota was with him, Starkiller did not want to endanger the old Jedi, he’d have to make do with himself. “You’re strong in the Force… You’re probably who I sensed. Who are you?”

                𝑻𝑯𝑬𝑽𝑨𝑹𝑨         it took a moment. there was never an advantage in giving too much information. however, it was clear there were opposite intentions. the blue ignition signifying that the other party was clearly a jedi. a deeper sense, analytical & thorough. “ Thevara. ” she speaks. her name, if anything could be given, the mask worn over the mouth altering the sound of the voice that spoke. “ Starkiller doesn’t sound very jedi-like though, then again, I’ve heard worse. ”        informing a new person about the title closely withheld, usually rendered people confused. it was centuries old, much like herself but one wouldn’t be able to tell as she appeared to be in her thirties at the latest. “ I’m a Jedi myself.  Or,  I was. What you make of me now doesn’t make much difference. ” the ready stance was becoming more relaxed, but the lightsaber was still drawn. “ So, Starkiller, are you here to subdue me or am I going to have to retaliate? ”

His twin lightsabers were pulled to his hands from his belt as soon as she ignited hers. Galen was a mix of many emotions, anger and disappointment being the most prominent. Her embracing the Dark Side and finding him was just another reminder that he would never outrun his past as a Sith but he hoped she’d be better than he’d been. Clearly, she wasn’t. He ignited his own sabers and assumed his fighting stance. If she wanted a fight, then she would get a fight. 

“I’ll give you one chance, Mara. Get out of my sight and you’ll live. You know what I could do to you...” He let the threat hang in the air, she knew probably better than most what he could do when he was angry. He’d torn through a whole squadron of Stormtroopers just to get to Juno. With Mara? There’s no telling what he’d do.

The saber in her hand never wavered, never lowered, even as it was pointed at Galen. There was a time when Mara only looked at him with admiration. But that time was long gone, abandoned so she could become stronger. Now? She couldn’t afford any sort of ties. Especially to someone who turned his back on power.

TEN   /   ( INSPIRATION FOR MUSE ) : the source material obviously. but I also take a lot of inspiration from other forms when it comes to my muses,most of the time I tend to use other things where Sam Witwer has been in (such as Days Gone) and I try my best to adapt it into Galen, other times I use literary stuff... I think I once told a friend that Galen and Juno could be Achilles and Patroclus (except, y’know, not bisexual I guess?) since Galen was basically so skilled he could walk through an army. I just tend to grab things that make me think of him and implement it?

SEE INTO MY MUSES PAST! // Accepting

Training aboard the Executor was always tough. He could do without the food, he could even go without water or sleep for a while, but it was always made worse by sparring with PROXY, the holo-droid had so many combat modules that it was starting to be difficult for the Apprentice to keep track of them all. He could handle most of them, he’d learned from most of them, but the one he hated and admired the most was the Obi-Wan Kenobi module... That one was the deadliest module PROXY had installed, and it really showed by the number of scars the young sith had in his arms. The Apprentice panted, spit on the ground before getting up, holding his red lightsaber on his reverse grip before glaring at the droid. “Again!” He yelled as the droid assumed the Soresu stance, ready to face against his opponent. 

Starkiller made the first move, aiming a downward slash that, in theory, should slice from the left shoulder to the right hip, but of course, ‘Obi-Wan’ easily deflected the strike before nicking the younger man in the bicep. Starkiller tried again, and again, and again, to mixed results. Some of his strikes would slip through the guard and harm the droid but PROXY’s blade's intricate pattern of blocks and parries moved just fast enough to subtly interfere with Starkiller's multiple strikes. It wasn’t until Starkiller found himself in the floor, with a blade close to his throat that he thought of Force pushing the droid away, he did so with such strength and rage that he left a dent on the metal, almost in the shape of PROXY’s metal frame. The holo projectors stopped working and the Obi-Wan disguise vanished. The apprentice would be lying if he said he had an easy time against that module... Although it did give him the push he needed to make up his mind about learning Soresu, the form was incredibly useful, perhaps he’d keep sparring with this module and learn the form that way. 

From that day forward, Starkiller learned never to take PROXY for granted, and to never let his guard down around the droid who could kill him just as easily as he could help and take care of him...
