âGood, itâll be good to have the subspecies of the Feywild on our side,â Opal said with a nod. âYou did well, Elodie.â She reached up to pet the faunâs head lightly, like one might a dog. âThough Iâm a little offended I wasnât invited to this party of yours. Iâd better see an invitation to your next one in my ⊠phone mail thing.â She still wasnât used to the new technology of topside, most of the time they just frustrated her.

Elodie leaned into her queenâs touch, usually she was uncomfortable with almost anybody touching her, she wanted to crawl out of her skin enough as it was. However, the fact that she knew it was a gesture of approval smoothed that away. All she wanted, practically everything she did, was for Opalâs approval. âA text message,â she gives a small smile, âIf thatâs what youâd like I absolutely will. Considering it was mostly...lesser fae I didnât want you to feel like you had to waste valuable time on them. But I will certainly let you know when my next gathering is.âÂ

She smirked, leaning back against the closest tree.
âThatâs what I said.â
Her smile faded though as he got closer, wrapping her arms around herself.
ââŠYes?â
Something immediately triggered in her brain when he told her he cared about her. She ignored it.
Another warning when he added the variable: a lot. Again it was ignored.
People cared about Olive as a trophy. People cared about Oliveâs status. People cared about Oliveâs last name. No one cared about Olive period. Perhaps she had convinced herself after years of feeling completely invisible that she wasnât meant for intimacy in that regard. That it was a waste of time. It just⊠got in the way of things. ExceptâŠ
Elodie didnât get in the way of things. Elodie was Oliveâs little fae princess. If anything Elodie made her a better person so it was possible⊠But Zeke confused things. It was one thing for one person to care about her another for two.
Olive couldnât despite her very best efforts to think of something â anything â Zeke could want from her (and Olive tried); she came up with nothing. He didnât expect anything from her. Which meant Olive could do what⊠she wantedâŠ
She was kissing him before her brain caught up with what her body was doing.
Who did she think she was? Garnering love she didnât deserve.
ââ Iâm sorry.â Her face burned with anger (and a hint of embarrassment) with herself, âIâm so sorry. I donât know what⊠Iâll leave.â How stupid of her to just loose control like that. This was the second time Zeke had brought something out of her she worked hard to keep hidden. âThank you for dinner.â It was easy enough to slip away, refusing to stop to let Zeke say much of anything. Before heâd be able to even think about stopping her sheâd be gone; leaving nothing but a lipstick stain against his top lip and the lingering smell of her perfume.
â
She began immediately when the door opened.
âI kissed a boy. I only kiss you and I kissed a boy.â It wasnât that Olive thought that she and Elodie were exclusive â they werenât. It was the principal: even though Olive could kiss whoever she wanted she never felt the desire to. She had Elodie, who understood her. Like cotton candy, the faun was soft and sweet, a stark difference to Oliveâs stubborn severity. âAnd I know heâs going to do something idiotic because heâs a stupid-stupid man. â And now Iâm disturbing you. Unannounced.â This was Monty behavior. And it was more than obvious Olive was going into a panic about it. âI canât be here either.â

Elodie was stewing. Whenever she was around proper fae always put her in this kind of mood. She sat in front of her bedroom mirror, black lace lingerie under a sheer, fur lined black robe. Elodie wanted to feel pretty, to feel sexy, to feel wanted. She was shaken out of her personal abyss by frantic knocking on her front door. She sighed, whoever it was, things seemed to be urgent enough they probably wouldnât care that she wasnât fully dressed. Elodie took the stairs two at a time, her robe trailing behind her, and opened the door to see Olive. âOh...â Sheâs about to say more when Olive begins frantically recounting the recent events. She shook her head when Olive mentioned that the boy she had kissed was an idiot, most men are idiots, but to be completely fair Olive wasnât exactly acting in the clearest of minds in this moment either. As she stopped talking Elodie pulled her into the foyer and locked the door. âYou could never disturb me love.â She wrapped Olive in her arms. âBut youâre going to put yourself in a tailspin, breathe.â She leads her over to the couch and says, âYou can always come here darling. Youâre letting your nerves get the best of you. Now, take some deep breaths and tell me what happened.â More than anything Elodie felt relieved that Olive had shown up, that she had someone to focus on her attention on, problems she could actually fix, and a way to get out of her own head.

Elodie let out a somewhat harsh laugh, âNobody drinks to feel good, they get vampire venom or faewild herbs to do that. People drink because they donât want to deal with the demons in their head.â Elodie paused for a moment, trying to decide what she could tell Zeke about why she wanted to be with him that evening. In truth, Elodie had called because, after being fitted for a new dress, she came home and, when she wasnât paying attention her glamor had slipped. She didnât notice until she had undressed to sit in her hot tub, and promptly broke down sobbing. She stayed on the floor for a while, her glamour back in place, moving her hands back and forth on flesh that she knew wasnât actually real. Elodie wanted to crawl out of her her skin, she wanted to be anybody else, she wanted to be a proper fae. Zeke was not allowed to know that. âI was lonely...and bored, and,â She wrapped her arm around his waist and leaned in, âI missed you, itâs been over a week. Iâll keep reminding you I actually enjoy your company. Well...â Elodie didnât particularly enjoy anything. âYour company is my preferred company.â

Elodie found Zeke half irresistible half maddening, very unseelie of him in a way she thought. They were drinking, watching the sun go down behind the mansion she had bought after arriving in Faerune. âDoes this shit actually do anything for you?â She asked watching Zeke nurse his whiskey. âPersonally Iâve never been able to get off on mortal booze, although I guess youâve never actually had the chance to have proper fae liquor.â She kissed his neck near his shoulder and then leaned back on the grass. Alone, it was so damn good to be alone, not to have to put up any sort of guise or ruse to fool the people around here. Itâs not like Elodie was going to go revealing the unseelie queenâs fans to the hybrid by any means, but just not have the perky, entertaining, socialite character was more than enough. âThank you for coming by the way, I really needed the company.âÂ

âSometimes. Only if I drink enough of it.â He said with a shrug, âI donât drink to feel good I drink to forget.â He had no reaction when Elodie kissed his neck, he just continued to sip his whiskey as he watched the sunset with her. âYou never explained why, you know Iâd come no matter what but what happened?â

Elodie held back a sigh as she felt Oliveâs skin against hers. The two had met a little over three months ago, at a party not unlike this one. They talked for four hours straight, Olive getting a bit tipsy, Elodie pretending to be, until the high of talking with someone who seemed to understand her so implicitly made her feel equally intoxicated. Since then theyâve met often, nail appointments, shopping trips, nights at each otherâs houses, and many, many parties. Sometimes they talked, about gossip, about Faerune, about their various projects, sometimes they kissed or had sex, other times they would simply sit in silence, a kind of innate understanding hanging between them. Elodie leaned back so the two were pressed together and linked her fingers between Oliveâs. âIâve been watching people for over an hour. Itâs all about body language. But even paying attention to that there hasnât been anything more interesting than a couple people who got their hands on vamp venom and your usual tired and trying to hide it charades.â She breathed deeply, savoring their moment of misbehavior, âIâm going to make people clear out soon, theyâre getting too drunk. Stay, if you want.â Elodie was always preparing herself for the possibility that Olive would not stay, that she would be too tired or too busy, but that was rarely the case. She heard the song âSo It Goesâ start to echo through the foyer and smiled, pulling Olive towards the area she had set up for dancing. âCâmon, spin a little with me, Iâll make it look very respectable.âÂ

Elodie was pleased with how the party was coming along. The liquor was flowing, people were dancing, and soon secrets would spill all over the floor. She was growing to really like the role she had been assigned to play, the socialite, the princess. Elodie was so used to playing second string to all the more beautiful and higher stationed nobles and royalty among the unseelie court. She saw them approaching her from across the foyer and smiled. âHow are you enjoying the party?â

Elodie straightened as Opal came into the living room. âMy queen,â feeling comfortable giving her the respect she was due since they were alone in the home, Elodie addressed Opal formally and kissed her ring as they sat next to each other on a couch. Usually she would be anxious in her queenâs presence, however, confident in the information she had gathered, Elodie was actually feeling rather self-confident. âI hosted a party for many of the nature spirits around the city. Some naiads, brownies, faun, you get the idea. Lots of them are pro reunification, but just as many donât particularly care one way or the other. What I can say for sure, is for now at least, weâre not in any danger of being exposed.âÂ

Elodie let herself hang upside-down over Rubyâs bed, her head hanging down off the edge. âYou know, I say this because I love you Ruby, but for a girl whoâs currently working as an exotic dancer, you are so tense.â Elodie had known Ruby her entire life. She was a guard for the court, Elodie was part of the court, her parents had always ingrained it into her that the guards and courtiers had a symbiotic relationship. One cannot exist without the other. They werenât close for a long time, Ruby freely took part in the times when Elodie was treated as a spectacle and curiosity by the court. But she couldnât hold that against her, if she refused to be friends with any of the people who had treated her like an oddity underground she wouldnât have any friends. After a moment where the only sound was their music playing in the background Elodie smiled, âWanna come to the party Iâm putting on tomorrow night?âÂ

Elodie held her entire body tight in her attempts not to shake. He was her King and ultimately the reason she didnât die as a baby. How had Elodie repaid the generosity Dain extended her, the education? the land? the trust? Oh, right, by following Opal here to play spy and completely disregarding the position it put him in. âIâm...Iâm here to apologize my King. For my disobedience.â She said quietly, her eyes cast down, looking at the wood floor of the Deanâs office. There was so little of them asked in the unseelie court, so many freedoms and pleasures supplied, and all they asked in return was allegiance to the crown. At the time doing as her queen asked had felt so clearly like loyalty. Now she was just concerned with salvaging whatever sort of relationship she could with the man who made her life possible. âAnd more importantly, to offer my services, for whatever you require. You trained me to be a tool of the unseelie crown, I know itâs a privilege. So let me be useful to you.âÂ

Elodie raised an eyebrow, feeling rather impressed. âWell clearly the whole council system would fall apart without you Mr.Aguirre.â âAnyway,â she leaned over on his desk. Usually by this point sheâd be trying to figure out what turned the man on so sheâd have someone new in her bed within a few hours. But that was pointless with this one, it was clear from the outsert that he was interested in neither women nor sex. A shame, nevertheless she had been told to offer her home up for a council event to ingratiate everyone to the new socialite on the scene. âI heard through the grapevine youâre trying to find a venue for your next event. I just bought one of the early era mansions up town. Just wanted to offer my services.âÂ

Elodie watched Jack closely as he sipped on some sort of old-looking liquor. âSurprised that doesnât all spill out your neck,â She smirked. âBut the whole convincing humans of ghosts and demons woo woo shit,â Elodie nodded approvingly, âIâll give you top marks for that.â She laughs, âThe headless horseman, what a crock, although I guess if youâre live that ancient fae deity life you may as well go full throttle.âÂ

đș - Dain
Elodie had always been desperate for her Kingâs approval, even though she knew deep down that he considered her barely more than an amusing pet. But nevertheless she admired, and even loved, so many things about Dain. She loved his eyes, how commanding they were, how much emotion they could convey. She loved his commanding nature, how he could make a room stand at attention with his mere presence. And at her core, she loved that he had allowed her to stay in his court, that he and Opal had ensured her survival. She was forever in his debt for that.

(Anya Taylor Joy, 230, She/hers) Have you seen [Elodie Onyx] around Faerune? Theyâre a [Faun] who [REJECTS] restoring the Seelie Court. People have heard theyâre [loyal, resourceful, quick thinking] but can also be [vengeful, deceitful, and sadistic]. Weâll see where they fall when the revolution arrives, but until then they can be found working as a [Unseelie Courtier/Socialite].Â
Name: Elodie Onyx Aliases: Melody, Onyx, Eloise Gender/Pronouns: She/Hers Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Pansexual Age: 230 Birthdate: February 26th Occupation: Unseelie Courtier/Socialite Height: 5âČ2 Build: Small, willowy, long fingers, long arms and legs with a short torso Skin Tone: Very light, cool toned Hair: Platinum blonde, looks silver under the right light Eyes: Amber, goat slit pupils when unglamoured Identifying Marks: Traditional faun legs, permanently black nails, goat pupils Appearance: Considered pretty by both seelie and unseelie standards, Elodie almost never unglamours because she grew up to feel her faun form was ugly. She wears almost exclusively black with hints of green more recently and prefers heavy makeup. Personality: Elodie is extremely loyal, especially to her parents and the unseelie court as she sees them as saving her life. She can be a great friend when you get to know her but she often comes off as haughty and self-important from a combination of being raised spoiled and constantly feeling like an oddity in the unseelie court. Motivations: The protection of the unseelie court, the acceptance of her king and queen, the love of a proper unseelie faerie Current Goal: To keep her true identity as a secret while acting as a spy for the unseelie queen. Life Goal: To be considered a worthy courtier by her king and queen and be welcomed back into the unseelie realm. Motto: Thereâs a fine line between genius and madness Best Quality: Loyalty Worst Quality: Vengefulness Fears: Being considered less than for being a faun, being banished from the unseelie court for her nature, the possibility that sheâll never find love in the unseelie court because of being seen as out of place Hobbies: Painting, makeup, gardening Talents: Quick thinking, Charming, Deceitful, Shrewd Skills: Growing and killing plants, powerful glamours, painter, ballerina
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Group/Organizational Affiliations: Unseelie Court, Faeries, Fauns Secret: Barely anybody in her current life knows Elodie is an unseelie courtier, most people believing she was raised in the UK by wealthy faun hybrid parents. Influential Memory: Being told she doesnât belong in the unseelie court and that she will only ever have worth for her entertainment value by Princess Obsidian. Role Model: Queen Opal Crush: Leif Navarre Source of Embarrassment: Her faun form/nature Source of Pride: Her connections to the unseelie royal family
Backstory:
Elodie was found in the feywilds by her parents, unseelie courtiers, during an illegal trip topside. Her mother, immediately taken with Elodie and desperate for a child, smuggled her back underground and eventually convinced the unseelie king and queen that she and her husband should be allowed to keep Elodie because she was abandoned and would have died otherwise. Friends with the queen for centuries the rulers agreed, with significant hesitation, still believing that Elodieâs faun nature meant she truly belonged above ground.Â
Elodie was raised in the court alongside the royal children, guards, and courtiers. Her parents lavished her with love and all her material wishes were fulfilled, she wanted for nothing. However, by the court at large she was generally considered nothing more than an oddity and amusement, and by some, including the king, a glorified pet. Elodie glamoured her faun form subconsciously, starting the first time her mother held her in her arms. However, she was often forced to unglamour for the amusement of the other unseelie nobles.
Elodie grew up with the implicit understanding that she was different, and less than, the rest of the unseelie court. She felt as though she watched her world from behind a plate of glass, never truly able to be emotionally or physically intimate with anybody except her parents. As a way to protect herself Elodie became haughty and very guarded. However, she has stayed incredibly loyal to the unseelie court and king and queen because rather than see herself as being stolen from the wild, she credits the unseelies with saving her life.Â
Elodie came to faerune as part of Queen Opalâs entourage and is currently acting as her spy. She claims to have been born into wealth and raised in London before eventually coming to faerune to get more in touch with her heritage and hopefully meet more fauns. Elodie currently acts as a socialite, hosting dinner parties, galas, and other events, appearing neutral and befriending many other neutral and pro-seelie residents in order to gather information about peopleâs loyalties and plans for her queen. Though few would know it, Elodie often entertains herself by playing tricks and deceiving the other creatures in faerune, her favorite trick being convincing people to sleep with her.
