So apparently it’s an azure dagger that was presented to Dimitri’s biological mom 20 years ago from King Lambert himself. So the joke about using daggers to propose is totally valid now. Also, Dimitri carrying his mom’s personal dagger that is used mainly for protection is just so heartwarming. Too bad he doesn’t give this to Byleth in the main game. 

I just wished we knew more about Dimitri’s biological mom. Hell, we even get to know more about Patricia / Anselma and Sitri than we do about the original queen of Faergus. Which is sad because I and others would like to know. I headcanon that somehow the Queen survived the plague 20 years ago with Cornelia’s help and fled to Ordelia territory to foster mother the 3 Hopes protagonist. The game hints at the step mom knowing magic, not talking about her past and finding it to be painful, and being well to do.

He hardly knows anything about the ashen demon but why was there a hole now making its way into his heart? As if in another life, she was his BELOVED. There’s a voice in his head to avenge her by killing the one who took her life.

They could get hurt, crest powers and all, minor or not. Besides, he’s had worse things than swords cutting into him. Dimitri will be fine.
