in all honesty i hope that the theories abt susie not actually being one of the prophesied heros are wrong, because it feels almost... disappointing? from a narrative standpoint.

deltarune is a game about holding onto hope and subverting your fate despite it being seemingly set in stone. right now, from a character development standpoint, susie and ralsei in particular are focused on finding ways to subvert the prophecy: so imagine if it turned out that this entire time... they didn't actually have to worry about finding a way to subvert the prophecy. because it turns out this entire time that they weren't ACTUALLY following it, so all their worry and grief was for nothing. like susie in particular is SO focused on finding a way to subvert the prophecy — imagine if all of that was done for nothing??? because it was never her fate to subvert???? and she's just an outsider changing the story for others despite not belonging????? like it'll make the emotional impact of chapter 4 just not. hit.

a lot of the evidence for this theory, whilst convincing on a surface level, also doesn't hold up as well under scrutiny?

"the girl with hope crossed on her heart is clearly meant to be noelle, and susie is "the girl" — she's something else" so. the second hero is Consistently referred to as "the girl".

"love finds it's way to the girl"

the prophecy goes out of it's way to differentiate others — "the flower man" = asgore, "the lord of screens" = tenna, "the pointy-headed" = lancer, "jockington" = jockington. why would the prophecy refer to both noelle and susie with the same title?

arguing that the image doesn't LOOK like susie also... kinda falls flat when you see some of the other images in the prophecy, like with tenna's part:

when tenna... doesn't get his screen cracked in half by the knight — he loses his arms:

and like... yeah, tenna's cracked in the overworld — but not clean in half like in the prophecy. nitpicking how "the girl" appears and claiming that it can't be 100% accurate because of the image just doesn't hold up when you take smth like this into consideration. or the fact that "the girl" is shown with the rude buster symbol — smth directly related to susie.

"love finds it's way to the girl" also isn't out of character for susie / "more applicable to noelle"????? even if in the weird route suselle isn't like... as there as in the normal route, love doesn't exactly HAVE to be romantic. love still finds it's way to susie with kris and ralsei — they both love her. susie goes from being alone to having friends and caring adults for the first time — love DOES find it's way to her.

there's a lot more than just this, but tbh if i'd want to properly theory post, i'd have to put together a much more concise post — this is mainly me rambling

honestly, as an autistic person, there's something so healing about playing deltarune in particular that i never even fully realized.

as a kid i was always bullied and ostracized — always labeled as "othered" and weird and never really spoken to for any reason aside from finding more bullying ammo; and that's something that makes susie resonate with me a lot. someone who clearly comes from a bad home environment, who's been ostracized and othered, who finds people that love her for those very same traits she got ostracized for. she's scary, but noelle loves scary things. she's weird, but kris is also weird. she can be mean, but ralsei thinks it's amazing that susie is susie.

or kris. they ARE the weird kid — everyone knows how weird they are. they're clearly depressed and they lack autonomy on various levels and they howl and annoy the people around them, but they're still able to make friends too. noelle still cares about them. ralsei loves it whenever kris can express their autonomy. susie and kris share many genuine moments despite the player's control.

ralsei lacks identity. ralsei masks his feelings and he people pleases and he throws away anything that could be unique to HIM in order to best suit susie and kris, but kris hugs him when you tell him it's okay not to smile. slowly learning how to be authentic is what brings him closer with others.

deltarune is a game that makes it clear that there are people who will love you for who you are, no matter how "weird" or "different" you are. there are people who will love you no matter what — and even if you've been alone for years, you'll find someone eventually.

it doesn't matter if you're "different", because we're ALL different, and we all can be loved.

i fully believe that in deltarune chapter 3 there should've been a section where tenna asks you what are kris' pronouns and if you answer anything aside from "they/them" kris rips out the soul and kills you w a gun live on stage

You specifically have to tell Ralsei not to park his butt in the room with the couch, and then backtrack here before the final boss!

guys i NEED you to understand that there is a different connotation to applying gendered pronouns to a character who canonically uses exclusively they/them as a headcanon than there is with canonically cisgender characters. you cannot just take a character who uses exclusively they/them pronouns and apply gendered pronouns to them because you feel like it. we do not get characters that use exclusively they/them in mainstream fiction. we just don't. you don't get to take that from us. this is not the same as a cis character whose gender you get to play with because there are no rules or whatever. You are deliberately misgendering a character whose gender and pronouns are constantly scapegoated and debated in real life. regardless of your intention you are contributing to the idea that they/them pronouns are optional and do not need to be respected. please think about the optics of what you are doing for the love of god

unless i missed something in chapter 4 — considering the fact that ralsei is aware of susie opening the second dark world despite it not being a part of the prophecy, and susie never getting the chance to tell him herself, do you think this implies that ralsei is fully aware of who the creator of any given dark fountain is. do you think ralsei was sitting there in chapter 3 fully aware that the dark world was opened by kris

something abt deltarune toriel that really concerns me is the fact that the stain in kris and asriel's room has been confirmed to be a bloodstain. it's been there the entire time. toriel has Been in the room. it's a very noticeable bloodstain. did. did toriel not notice the giant bloodstain in her child's room??????
