Kharkiv's Faktor-Druk printing house has resumed operation after being severely damaged by a Russian missile strike on May 23. The facility is only partially restored, and they have shifted focus to printing essential educational materials such as textbooks for the new school year.
According to Tatiana Hryniuk, the general director, damages from the Russian missile strike exceed €10 million, with losses still being calculated. The attack claimed seven lives and destroyed almost 100,000 books.

What's going on right now in the Republic of Georgia / Sakartvelo? A new legislation just passed that official bans - human rights essentially, gay-marriage, gender-firming care and surgery, any 'promotion' of queer identity. Soon after this legislation passed, trans model Kesaria Abramidze was murdered as a direct consequence of this.
Why is this super extra bad? Besides the several many lives at stake, the safety of queer families and the lethality of hate crimes, Georgia's wish to enter the EU is falling to a complete simmer due to this, soon to be extinguished completely. Here is an article about the international reaction to this legislation:
What can you do to help? The biggest thing we currently rely on is international push back especially from the EU members and the possible overturn of this in the upcoming election. It does not help that this law is implemented due to greedy fucks and Russian puppets in Georgia who benefit from this. source:
You might hear many refer to this as 'Russian law' which is due to the fact that Georgia, under this puppet-leadership mimics Russian laws like the 'Foreign Agents Law' that was put into work only a few months prior the law assumes 'only receiving foreign funds makes an organization a foreign agent.' and I don't think I have to explain how horrendous that is.
We also rely on our president to veto the legislation before it goes into 'full effect' (though the consequences and effect have already begun) but even with this the political party which instated this legislation argue to over-ride her veto in parliament. source:
The most important thing right now is vocal pushback, and public support of the queer community. with what happened to Kesaria (may she rest in peace) a lot of trans people are fearing for their lives, and queer families no longer can remain in their own country if they want to continue to be themselves in any way.
Spread love, a lot of it like as much as you can offer to queer Georgians everywhere.

Project Nedopysani confirmed at least 194 literature figures killed by Russia during war.
This list will continue to grow. Russia commits genocide, both physical and cultural, every day. This is why you likely didn't know much about Ukraine until 2022: Russia tried and continues to wipe out our culture from existence.
Please, support Ukrainian artists and spread awareness about Russia's war crimes.

Last night, a massive air attack on Sumy in Northern Ukraine left over 300k people without gas or electricity. The russian troops deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure with drones to cut out electricity, gas, and water for Ukrainian civilians in the region that's being targeted daily.

two (2) perfectly crafted fanfics now, and i must admit i like it much, much better now that i'm able to read something wonderful and only feel satisfaction reading a good story gives you, and gratitude to the clever mind behind it (therapy and being even marginally gentler to yourself helps, who'd have thought)
the mortifying ordeal of having found one (1) fanfic that goes exactly how i would have written something of my own (save the mystery at the core and all the politics, because god knows i'm not that smart), loving it to pieces, and then searching and finding nothing that provides the same level of rightness

hated stilton's mansion even more than jindosh's, but the outsider sitting on the grand piano like some thrice divorced lady AND the implications that stilton and the old duke abele were,, you know,,, made up for that. somewhat
playing dishonored 2 (for the first time in the year of our lord 2024, yes, and), and my takeaway so far is that there are characters in the series for whom bending over for someone else could be a nice, healing experience, AND THEN THERE IS THE THRICE DAMNED KIRIN JINDOSH

Thousands of people gathered in Lviv, western Ukraine, to attend a funeral service for four members of a family who died in a Russian air strike. The attack killed Yevhenia Bazylevych and her three daughters at their home, leaving the girls' father as the only survivor in the family.

"During the first 24 hours [after the airstrike] there's still a chance of finding alive people under the rubble. There's still hope. There's always hope". Ukrainian rescuers rest on the grass near the institute that was bombed by russia.

You know, the story of that family in Lviv, who were hiding in the stairway of their building during the air raid... the father only survived because he went to get some water from their flat. While everyone else stayed in the place considered more safe than apartments, and got buried under debris when the stairway fell apart from the missile attack.
And I understand how far away and distant this story is for people living in safety. You can't imagine the sounds of the air defense and missiles exploding, because you haven't heard it before. But your heart really stops at this rumbling sound, it stops and then rushes so fucking hard, you want to run away anywhere safer. We hide in the hallways, because the closest shelter is not close, and you cannot get ready in time before the missiles are already around your city. Even if you prepare your clothes and wake up the second the air raid sirens go off.
When the explosions get loud and the house starts rumbling itself, I feel scared and I grab my dog's collar and think of getting down to the first floor by the stairway. They were hiding there. They were doing everything right. They were doing everything to ensure their safety. I would do the same! It's so uncanny you can't stop feeling nauseous. What am I going to do the next time there's a big air raid? Can I ensure safety for my family at all?
And the worst part, I fell asleep as soon as the missiles turned from my city towards Lviv tonight. I was so exhausted, I didn't wake up until the very morning. I didn't check the danger at all tonight, and if russians decided so, I could have woken up from the sound of explosions, or not wake up at all anymore. It's fucking real, it's here and it's just a pure destruction.
Kharkiv, Kherson, Dnipro, Kryviy Rih, Sumy, countless cities, towns, suburbian houses, villages, even cities as far from the frontline as Lviv, everywhere danger is to be expected. I'm lucky to have people protect me and my city, but fuck, one fucking stray missile or drone and there's no me anymore. I didn't think about this before like this. I was just distracting myself, like there's no me at all, and it wouldn't make a difference if... you know... but it is real, and as far as I feel like I exist, while writing this post on my phone during an air raid, I feel how real this danger is after all.
