Imagine your f/o getting super defensive whenever someone insults your intelligence or implies that you're not smart. Even if the other person was just joking, your f/o calls them out for it and tells them to knock it off, without causing too much of a scene. Maybe they wait and confront the person privately later and give them an earful for talking about you like that. Either way, your f/o knows you're not stupid. They know what you're capable of and they're so in awe of your brain.
