These are all the e-mails I sent. I thought about the image I was going to add at the end of the e-mail carefully, considering each field to which I was sending my portfolio to. So for children’s publishers I added the pencil case drawing, because I think it is more of a children’s style and also theme (like kids crafts, school suplies). For the wrapping paper and greeting cards company I added this texture image, which I think would look great on a wrapping paper. For Giovanna Cianelli, that works at Editora Aleph, I sent something more digital, more squared and less textured with coloring pencils, because I think the publisher’s style is more like that (most of their work is science fiction). For pesquisa FAPESP I added something editorial, because they are a magazine. For the designers I added 3 drawings that I think represent well my style.

I made this gif of my small portfolio with drawings and I posted on instagram, and it got really good responses, it was one of my most appreciated posts. I really like how this small book turned out, it looks very cute.

Asking Daniel Bueno where should I send my graphic novel to, as one of the heroes. He knows a lot about graphic novels, so I think he'll have a suggestion.

Organazing the spacing of the words on my portfolio to add a word to the last line that had a single word left alone, and according to Laura this looks bad in the layout, I remember Daniel saying something about that as well last year.

I saw this cover by Mariana Zanetti and I really like it, I will be sending my portfolio for designer Flavia Castanheira, as it was also a suggestion from Laura, and now I see that she used illustration in a cover.

Taking some pictures for the website at ebac with Feco. We used sunlight.

Laura suggested that I should put more work on my website, so this is what I'm going to do.

Silvia Amstalden gave us this little book when she came for the speaker series and it is a reference for my little book of drawings.

Laura suggested that I gave more white space and that I keep the same space on the right and top and bottom, but change the space on the left, according to the project.

I put all the pages of my portfolion on 2 A1 files, so that I can send it to print at the fine art all at once, and then I will cut. I think my works are looking very good together, I believe I made a good selection.

I'm looking at Amber Vittoria's instagram, because she's an illustrator who does a lot of collabs, which is something I would be interested in doing. This one is for a collective that selects artworks to use on cans of beer, you can submit on the website.

The heros I’m considering sending my portfolio to are:

a Fábula (children’s clothes designs)

Folha (newspaper)

Peirópolis (publishing house)

Trip magazine?

Pesquisa fapesp?

Companhia das letras?

I think this is very hard because I think it is weird to send an e-mail for illustration work, it is much easier to send it as graphic designer, because they have studios, for illustration is harder because the small publishing houses are just a select group of people that print very few books each year and they don’t have space for someone new (I feel) like Planeta Tangerina or Triciclo Editora (which I would love to work for), they only publish their own work. So I have to send it to bigger publishers and newspapers/magazines.

One of the pages of my FMP publication is a page of stamps, it isn’t ready yet, but I think I will be using it as my self promotion object, since it is from a very important work from my trajectory so far, it makes sense. I will make them as stickers to give out in fairs/events. Maybe people will be intrigued by the numbers and look it up to understand, if they are interested in my drawings. Also stamps is something I’m very interested in (and I have designed them in quite a few occasions), so it makes total sense to make them as my self promotion object.
