Sketch of the day - ‘Neutral Territory’ - a speed paint fan art of Percy Jackson the Son of Poseidon and Blackjack the pegasus. Percy Jackson and the Olympians is one of the best series that I have ever read and I really encourage you to read it all now. The movie created from the first book The Lightning Thief completely butchers the story and Lightning Thief should never be judged by its revolting movie - in fact, I dearly hope that Lightning Thief will someday be redone as a movie so that it is closer to the novel. The novel is utterly fantastic and the entire series grabs your attention, refusing to let it go. I can’t really say enough how much I adore Rick Riordan’s writing.

I always thought it was utterly badass how there was at least one way for Percy to fly without getting struck dead by Zeus. On a pegasus there’s neutral territory because Percy’s father Poseidon created horses, so he’s safe in the sky for once. Percy is seriously the coolest demigod ever and Rick Riordan paints a lush world with his words that is smoothly imagined. I’m starting to lose count of the number of times that I have reread his books - I really need to draw more fan art of his characters.
