anyone have any resources on writing jewish characters? ive been looking at tumblr blogs run by jewish folk, but im still not confident and want some more resources.
im considering making the main character of my newest project jewish and i wanna make sure i get it right as best as i can.
I’m sorry for asking this question if u don’t wanna answer it I understand but what is the difference between bi and pan sexuality I hear people say that they’re synonyms than I hear others say that pan is all and bi is some (which sounds biphobic as hell ngl) and than others say it’s something about prefrences I just don’t really know (I hope none of this comes off as panphobic I jus wanna know if there’s a difference cuz everyone’s explanation kinda confuses me)
oh don’t worry anon! it’s alright
and before i get to that, i’m gonna debunk those things you talked about
“bi and pan and synonyms”
this is... very wrong. and is considered both biphobic and panphobic
though there is a difference between a person considering these identities as “basically the same” and a person switching labels between these two to see which one fits them better.
the last thing also goes for basically any identity...? switching labels (ex: bi to lesbian; gay to pan) is not bad or wrong in any sense!
considering two identities as the same thing can be very offensive because it’s basically erasure of the identity...? i see pansexual be shown as “bisexual 2.0″ a lot but that doesn’t mean that people saying bisexual is “pansexual 2.0″ don’t exist.
it also leads to the horrible idea of “this pansexual person is just bisexual” and “this bisexual person is just pansexual” WHICH IS THE ERASURE OF THE IDENTITY IVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT! the erasure and harassment can be felt on both sides.
“pan is all and bi is some”
so i think this came from a misunderstanding of a definition of these two sexualities, and you’re right! it is extremely biphobic because it’s saying that pan is “more inclusive” than bi... which is a strange claim imo.
the “definitions” of these two i am referring to are “pan means attracted to all genders” and “bi means attracted to both genders” but... in my opinion these are very bad ways to describe these sexualites and a lot of people who identify as these have different definitions for how they feel about their attraction! and that’s beautiful!
but there is a good definition i saw once that describes these two identities very well.
pansexuality - attraction to all people of any gender identity OR LACK THEREFORE OF
bisexuality - attraction of people of two OR MORE gender identities OR LACK THEREFORE OF
so. to sum up my final thoughts about it:
the difference between pansexuals/romantics and bisexuals/romantics is that one identities as pan and the other identifies as bi. no one is hurting each other or anyone by identifying as bi or pan and the definition only matters to person who has the label.
i appreciate you, anon, coming to ask an actual person who identifies as pan what’s what because a quick google search has a lot of weird results that can end up making a person confused.
if anyone wants to comment on anything said, you may! just don’t fucking clown on this post.
Hey don’t fucking interact with me if you support FNF (friday night funkin) bc the shit the creator pulls makes me sick.
big trigger warning under the cut for mentions of genocide against black people, Jewish people, trans people, general racism, support of sh*dman, slurs(the [i will not say the word] are gay joke specifically), and mention of sexual assault. seriously take caution for looking at the screenshots
