It always sickens me when I replay and remember that Kaito was always assuming the best in Kokichi after calming down. Like after chapter 4 he puts Kokichi at the same level of fault as Gonta, while the rest of the class’ perception of him is beyond tarnished. Kaito believed in him!!!!!! It makes me ill!!!!!

i love how mike and el don't achieve ANYTHING with their fight in episode three like. el could've opened up to mike and he could've comforted her, el could've not dismissed mike's feelings and experiences, mike could've reassured el that he does love her....and yet, nothing of the sort came out from that conversation. NOTHING. they fought and they solved NONE of their problems. they are so dysfunctional it's insane. please break up. you do not belong together. please please please.

Hey. Hey can we talk about how Kenji switches between calling himself ‘mama’ or ‘papa’ depending on his emotional state and self esteem in the moment. How he’s confident as mama Kenji but switches to papa specifically when he feels that he’s fucked up or that Smoothie is otherwise at risk. The way he believes in mothers due to Mrs Bowman but has never seen a dad not fuck things up.

Can we talk about that?

I honestly kind of appreciate the take that Yaz and Sammy broke up not because they fell out of love or they’re just that mad at each other, but because they realized how hurtful their words were becoming trying to make each other understand what they were saying and they love each other too much keep doing that. And I think that’s why Sammy had such a hard time approaching Yaz after. She WANTS to talk. She WANTS to be okay with each other. But every time they’ve talked lately, it’s become a worse and worse fight over the same thing, and she doesn’t want to fight. She loves Yaz too much to keep fighting with her.

What’s Left Standing

There is a tree in the middle of it all that no one walks through anymore.

It has outlived names, outlasted maps. Whatever once claimed this land has gone quiet.

The tree does not ask why it was left behind. It has let go of questions that don’t change the weather.

It has been struck by lightning more than once. And yet it reaches upward, not with hope, but with something gentler: acceptance.

It does not measure time in seasons, but in absences— the weight of snow, the return of birds, the ache of drought.

No one sees the roots still moving through the earth like slow, patient hands searching for something they don’t expect to find.

And maybe that’s what faith is— not belief in return, but the refusal to stop growing, even when no one is watching.

To remain, without witness, without reward, and still call it living.

The beautiful thing about oumota to me is both have. Honestly deeply unhealthy approaches to interpersonal relationships but somehow together they manage to cancel eachother out and become actually functional. It's hilarious

I don't wanna derail the post but I saw someone talking about how the way Kokichi died would have been the most ideal to him, because there wouldn't be a body for anyone to see how he felt in his final moments. So he gets to die without that mask ever slipping off or for anyone to see his true self even in his final moments...

... Except, Kaito did.

Kaito knows how Kokichi behaved in his final moments. Whether or not he cried or screamed or wailed. Whether or not he was scared or at peace or thought he deserved the death he brought upon himself. He knows his final words, or if he didn't have anything left to say.

He knows. He knows, and brought that secret with him to his own grave.
