That small fact didn’t come as a surprise to her. Noah herself as well as half of the other engineers in Ten Forward had grease smudges covering the gold of their uniforms. The lieutenant thought she had removed all of the dark staining from her hair and face before she left the engineering room. Her apparently stained face flushed with heat.

Perhaps it was counter productive to try and remove a smudge of grease with a grease stained hand, but alas, Noah tried.
