Text
Oh, honey — I am not perfect, and I never meant to be.
Because the illusion of perfection — of being some kind of “Holy Being” —
stole from me the softest, most endearing moments I could have lived.
I'm learning now to let go of that weight.
To release the pressure from my shoulders,
and hold space for my precious flaws.
Yes — precious.
Because in all their perfect imperfection,
they make my bones ache, my heart break
and remind me that I am alive.
They're not just cracks.
They're the proof that I’ve existed, loved, and tried.
And even if the image of the divine still haunts us
- and how could it not? -
After all, the will to become “better”
is carved into the fabric of being human
I accept the burden and the beauty
of being made of flesh and bone.
- Lola G.

“If you find someone who makes you smile, who checks up on you often to see if you’re okay. Who watches out or you and wants the best for you. Who loves and respects you. Don’t let them go. People like that are hard to find.”
